I still cant believe that some people are still thinking under 200". Some even in the 170". I'll go hunting with you, and shoot what you pass up. -
One less fawn killer on the streets.

Need Help Scoring this Carp

DAYUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For once I have to agree with muley. I think that he'll ram past the 200" mark. He's not wide, but he's still got 20" or better inside the main beam, and thats the only spread measurment that counts. I got to measure a 204" muley this year. He had a 197" typical frame............this buck stomps that. Only thing I dont agree with muley on is that deer should be in my neck of the woods not the kaibab. I'll put my money on the 210'ish mark with the fifth point. Gross score of course, if you want net talk to a fisherman or a collector. Congrats on the picture. -
Hope so. They should have plenty of feed.

I drew the Burro Mtn portion of the Gila for late coues. Though I plan on spending some time in there before the hunt, this is the first time for me in this area. Any body have any tips or suggestions. Not looking for secret hot spots, just a possible starting point.

why are digitals so expensive?
muleybull replied to coues7's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I got done talking to the folks at Muley Crazy and they recommended the 35mm, less expense if stolen and you can take it in and have it put on a cd and look at before paying for all pictures. saves alot instead of complete developing. We will see though I guess. -
I have a buddy that has some nice horns in his yard. He came home one day and one of his horns were missing. There was a note and 20 bucks. Note said "I figure this would cover the horn, thanks."

Heres my 2 cents for what its worth. I agree with newbee, you cant beat practice. Cheap gear will outshoot expensive gear if you practice more with it. The only reason I started shooting carbons. Even shooting at a straw or bag target, eventually you end up with slight bends and tweeks with aluminum arrows. Not a problem with carbons, you have to lose them or blow them up. They cost more by the dozen, but for me, in the long run I spend less money. I get better mileage out of the carbons. I only shoot broadheads, all I do is hunt with my bow. The broadhead I shoot is the Zwicky 2 blades. These are normally the hardes broadheads on the market to get to shoot good. Just for fun I have an 80 yard pin. I am a seasonal shooter, but I can put those Zwicky's in a Copenhagen lid just about every time at 70 and 80 yards. I also think the .003 are plenty for what anyone wants. Why pay more if you dont notice any difference. use the extra money for something else.

Looks like they lit him on fire and tried to put him out with a hatchet.

Just heard through the grapevine that we may be able to find out on the evening of the 15th on the Arizona results. I drew New Mexico unit 15 archery elk. The later hunt, and unit 23 burro mtn portion, later hunt for coues. I'm from AZ so this is my first time in these areas. Anyone have any ideas on starting points, we may be able to swap some info if you draw something in my neck of the woods. Good luck on the Arizona draw. I think we all need it.

Theres only 25 tags for the late hunt this year.
-
Dang!!! You had me all excited, I drew the New Mexico unit 23 Burro Mtns only. This is the first time for me.
-
Which hunt do you have?
-
Hey muley, congrats on your unit 15 elk draw. You wont believe what I've been seeing this year. I had this tag last year, and I wasnt seeing the caliber of elk I'm seeing now at this time. I ended up taking a 378 bull, but I passed up about 7 or 8 bulls between 340 and 360. I even missed one quite a bit bigger than what I killed (probably around 380-390).
-
Hey muley, you dont happen to be from Arizona do ya pk?
-
I do plan on spending quite a bit of time in there before the hunt. Been a lucky year as far as the New Mexico draw goes for me. I also drew the late archery any elk unit 15 hunt. As far as the non resident permits, I'll come over and we can drive up to good ol' Georges house or the USO headquarters and pay him a visit. I'm an Arizonan, he caused quite a fuss during our draw last year. Good luck on any hunts you did draw.
