Tell it to the fishcops..................worked out to my benefit. To step it up a notch..................another buddy of mine drew a 12A west late hunt third choice. I know this because we made fun of the fishcops while we compared copies of our applications. If you remember, last year you had to send a hardcopy to AZGFD, so we all made copies before they hit the mail. Like I said, if you think I'm full of it, think again.................support your local game and fish officer. Also I heard it helps you get drawn if you donate money even if unsuccessful.................donate the max amount to be sure.

Plus guys, dont get to excited to draw a tag.........I dont care how many bonus points you have. I'm full of good stuff. I drew a trophy archery elk tag last year as my third choice................thats right...........third choice..............if you think if full of it...............think again.............third choice.........................just a couple of bonus points.................beat out some friends of mine with 8+ bonus points that applied for this hunt first choice.

Negative.......you wont see credit card hits until after draw......how am I a know it all? I did not draw a spring turkey tag this year, boo hoo, anyway, shortly after the draw I got on the AZGFD website and looked at the leftover turkey tags. Low and behold there were leftover turkey tags in my first choice unit....................."how can this happen?" you ask. Well.................I called the AZGFD and asked. After the draw, they start hitting your card, some peoples cards expired, or they didnt have enough money (debit card). so rather than going to another applicant, that permit goes into the second draw. This is exactly what I was told. Makes sense though if you really think about it. Its better to have a second draw and give you a "pink slip" than to give it to you on the first time around just because some broke d@!# got the tag (or didnt get it).

Anyone ever hunted this area? Just curiouse on what its like. The hunt is December, but I've never been there.

I hear theres nothing but 120" coues and 240" muley bucks in that unit.

I did cover up the motion sensor with bubble gum.

Just kidding muley...........I just turned them upside down.

Hey, I grabbed your cam.................hope you dont mind. You didnt have anything good on it except a non typical coues and a lion fighting a sow bear with a cub playing solitare in the background.

I grew up in Williams, but the name doesnt sound familiar. Bet a guy could ask around the locals and find out who he is.

Younghunter, I would watch yourself on picking up dead heads. Take a look a the hunting arizona forum and click on the topic dead heads. It cost this guy 3 felonies, in the tens of thousand of dollars, and his job. He was not suspected of poaching anything, just picking up a deadhead. Hope you dont end up in trouble.

Wierd...........Game and Fish couldnt answer a Game and Fish related question. Wow. Never would have expected that.

Good ol' Arizona Game and Fish. I am familliar with this case, and still think things were a lot out of control. This is one of the reasons I have lost all support for them. If you want further proof of thier support for the hunter, look at the 2006 hunt regs. I hunt a lot in northern AZ. I hunt deer a lot in unit 18A. They upped the tags to 600. I will kiss your hind end if you can count 600 different deer in that unit. Heck, I'll even give you a 400 head spread. Not only will there be 600 deer hunters in this unit, but at the same time there will be over 600 limited opportunity elk hunters in there, with the possiblilty of another 150 population management tags. Again, all at the same time. Still think they like hunting or hunters. Ask yourself why would anyone want an archery elk tag. Chance to kill a huge bull right. The old dates on the hunt made it hard to find a bull that wasnt all busted up, so they backed it up later. Should make it easier to kill a huge bull with their antlers intact. On a lighter note, beat them at their own game. If you dont kill a deer or elk, keep your tag in case you find a deadhead. Could be the one you lost during your hunt..............right? I guess that makes it yours.

Hey noworries, hopefully you purchased one of the cheaper 30mm models instead of the expensive digital model. Unfortunately, you just have to plan on getting your camera stolen, or else you'll never put it out. I havent had mine stolen yet, but my buddy and I put our cameras up in an area close to each other at the same time. All his got stolen. Its chicken $hit, but that doesnt stop some people from taking them. Good luck, hopfully you get some good pics.
