My kids' Tikka youth (20" barrel) loves the 145gr LRX with 40.7 grains of Varget. Speed is 2740fps. Shoots 3/4 groups at 200 yards. Boy shot a coues buck at 475 and daughter shot an antelope at 400...also several pigs at 200ish yards. I had a Ruger American youth model that liked the 150gr LRAB. 37.5 grains of Varget. Only like 2550 fps, but shot tiny tiny groups. I shot a mule deer with that rifle and load at 420 yards. Kids killed coues at 350 and 375. Daughter shot her sheep at 175. I moved away from the bullet because I didn't like how fragile it is...that being said, it killed everything it touched.

Not sure which, if either, of these my new rifle will like. So, if anyone has partial boxes of the 178gr or 200gr ELDx that they aren't using and would like to sell, please let me know.

If you start putting a cow tag as a second choice you'll get drawn every 3 or 4 years at most...every 4 to 6 years if you put some of the late bull tags as a second choice. Your 3rd, 4th, and 5th choices really don't matter when it comes to elk because only a handful of undesirable LO tags ever make it that far...and in some years even those don't make it to that round.

You have to go into "Manage Account" and then select the SMS Two-Factor Authentication. Once that is in place, you will have an option appear that allows you to add dependent accounts. The catch is that you'll need to get texted a security code every single time you want to check your own account in the future. Also, even though I added it all with an employee from the draw department on the line, it still created all new accounts for my kids and she had to go back in and sync it on here end to make it match the accounts that actually had bonus points.

I manage 11 portals for my family and my in-laws. That means we have 22 elk and antelope applications in. Every single one of them says that we did not apply for the draw. On every one I called in two weeks before the draw deadline to make sure that old sportsman ID numbers were synced with the new customer numbers, so I know they are correct in the system. I wouldn't worry about what the portal says now, but if they really have to go back in and check each one individually and update what the portal says before they run the draw, then we are in for a long wait...based on the fact that of my 11, not one has been changed yet.

Pulled this down because a friend was interested, but he went another route...back up for sale now. This is a great rifle, but I need to fund the one taking its place in the safe. Selling the bare rifle only. $700 T3x Superlite (code for stainless fluted with 24" barrel). For what it is worth, the 5 shots I took with the Hornady American Whitetail 180gr ammo grouped well under an inch, so it seems to like those. I'm in Gilbert. Will not ship. 1/2x28... not traditional for 30 cal, but with the thin barrel that's what I had to do to get enough shoulder for the suppressor. I checked with the engineers at Silencerco, and they gave it their blessing...one said it was exactly the same setup that he had. If someone wanted a brake, you can get 30 caliber brakes in 1/2x28, they just aren't as common.
