Interesting. The troubling thing is there is a lot of us who have been doing youth applications in this order for many many draw cycles, but they never screwed it up until this past elk draw. What did they do to the software, and why?
-
But did you have them apply for a general tag as first choice, or only youth tags? That's the difference here. If the kid applied for general tag first, they are charging them the general price, regardless of which one they drew. They're not supposed to do that with an online application.
-
That note in the regs is a vestige from when you applied by check. It now applies only when you are sending in a check for a leftover tag. They were supposed to charge you the lesser amount for the youth tag. They made the same mistake on the elk draw. My daughter and her friend looked to have pulled early rifle bull tags based on the $270 charge, but they actually drew youth tags. I had to call and get a refund for the difference. They did the same thing this time. I also had a non-resident youth with zero points on a card that got charged $300. There is no way that this kid drew the late Kaibab tag as a non resident with zero points. What he did draw was the 36B youth tag, which should have been $25. This happened to every single one of my friends who had their kid apply for a premium tag first and a youth tag second. You'll need to call and ask for a refund once the dust settles. They promised me they would fix this before the fall draw. They didn't. When I called after the elk draw they said they had no plans to make an announcement and couldn't say for sure whether people would automatically receive refunds. If they didn't refund, and then they allowed the same problem to happen again, then that is approaching the threshold for fraud.

I have some unopened RL17. I'm in NW Gilbert. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

An overcharge for WHAT though?
-
Non residents pay a $15 app fee...residents pay $13. It checks out.

No reports of anyone with charges for sheep yet...but if you add the charge for non resident sheep and res sheep you get $2,100. 😉

While You Were Out Thurs 07/01 We Took 11,712 acres

Near as I can tell, our only other interaction was 9 years ago when you ASKED for advice on how the sow quota would work after the Department put a bear down in 22. I had to search it out. You've either got a great memory or nothing much else going on in life. Nine years is a long time to hold onto something. My answer 9 years ago (solicited by you, not offered up just for the he ll of it) was 100% correct by the way. Be sure to post a follow up and let us know how your fight goes, because I'll probably forget all about you again. -

Wow, my first advice would be to not act like an a$$ at the hearing. Sounds like you might need some practice in front of a mirror first. I happen to be a planning and zoning attorney by trade. I have actually worked on the rezoning and annexation of trust lands in preparation for auction...several times. If you'd like hire someone to represent you in your hopeless cause, I'd be happy to provide some references. -

...I should probably also add, there is no way in heck the County is going to turn down the request. You're talking about putting thousands of acres on the property tax rolls, with significant opportunity for economic development in employment zones. It looks like a good chunk will remain open space to appease those who want those protections. This will fly through the process. -

It will suck to lose it, but you need to remember that State Trust Land is not public land in the same sense as Forest Service/BLM/other federal holdings. Federal public lands are held in trust for the people, with an expectation that most of it will likely remain undeveloped forever. State Trust Land is held in trust for the benefit of the public schools of Arizona. The Trust has a responsibility to get the best monetary return it can. With State Trust Lands (and in contrast to Federal public lands), the expectation is that it could all go into private hands eventually, depending on what makes the most financial sense. When civilization catches up to those tracts, that will often mean development and sale. This rezoning will be the first step in putting the land up for auction to go into private hands. One interesting note, in many states (Utah, I know for sure), the Trustee requires that the state game and fish agency pay an annual fee to the trust to allow hunting and fishing on trust lands. It is a trespass fee, essentially. That money has to come straight out of the agency's budget--meaning license dollars. The State Land Trust in Arizona has not tried that yet, but don't be surprised when it does. If the fee the Utah DNR gets charged is indication, we are talking a significant percentage of the incoming license dollars being shifted over to the Trust. -
Those are the two commission tags and one super raffle tag for each species. Nothing new.

Kent has helped me tune two of my bows...both of which were tuned on paper by two of the main archery shops in the easy valley. On the most recent one, I was so frustrated I was ready to just say "to heck" with archery hunting forever. Kent picked up the bow that showed perfect paper tuning at the shop and pointed out that my arrow was no where near straight on the rest. I felt so stupid. I trusted that the perfect paper tune meant that the problems could only be me or a spine issue. In under 10 minutes of bare shaft tuning Kent had me shooting very respectable groups out to 50 and 60 yards. When I started missing bulls a few months later, the misses were all on me, and not due to my equipment.

I've used in in NM. It is really slick. I think it is worth it for the harvest reporting alone. For those worried about kill locations, the apps (at least the one NM uses) don't work that way. You don't even need cell service, only battery life left on your phone. When you make a kill, you open the app and answer a few questions. The app will then give you a tag number to write down on what you use to tag the animal. I used blaze orange duct tape and a black sharpie. If you don't have cell service and if you have the GPS turned off on your phone, I don't see how they could possibly narrow down your kill location...I could be wrong...but it just doesn't seem like it worked that way. Once you get back to civilization and you have service, the app will sync up with the Department system to let is know that you killed, and you are done hunting.

I'm the second owner. I picked it up 7 years ago, so I'm going to say at least 10 years old.

I have 1k Large Pistol. I dont own a large pistol. Wondering if anyone would be interested in trading for 700 small rifle. Located in the East Valley

Stainless, but had a slight bead blast put to it to cut down on the shine and to better match my barrel. You could buff it shiny again if desired. Took 5 shots through it. Performed as designed, but decided to switch to a system that is compatible with my suppressors. $150

Did you use a round/sirloin/rump roast from the rear, or a chuck/blade roast from the shoulder?

No kidding. We put my son in for 36C Oct and 36C late Nov as first and second choices and he didn't draw. Odds on the October hunt were like 94% with one point in the 1/2 pass...he is just that unlucky. The days of 1000+ leftover coues tags are long gone...and the days of 3-5 pass tags outside of Cochise County are coming to an end too.
