thompson contender with 30-30 win 14” barrel
1uglydude replied to bryce2000's topic in Classified Ads
This shouldn't last long. I waited months for someone to list this exact package. I ended up buying the same gun with slightly different options at the gun show the other week. I paid a bit more and yours looks prettier. -
Have him look at the new Ruger AR 15 that just hit the market (not the SR556). My buddy just got one brand new online for about $560 with shipping. All the gun mags are giving it rave reviews.

You can now check your results through the regular, non portal site. Should mean the leftover list is ready any time now.
-
I'm also in the east valley, I'll take the 9mm and 30-06 dies.
-
I'm interested in the 30-06 and 9mm dies if I don't have to travel too far. Where are you located?
-
If you have any bonus points at all you should always list your first choice both first and second on pig applications. Then, if your true second choice is easy draw, as in this case, you should list it third. You are going to see that there will be leftovers for your first choice. That's because you drew your second choice in the bonus pass because you had enough points for a 20% 36 tag, but not enough for a 20% 37/34 tag.

I've had a portal account since its inception a year ago and I still don't know how to get results to show up in my portal. Did you ente your social in both places? If you use your social as your sportsman's id you have to enter it twice to get the system to sync. We made that mistake the first time.

What part of "on the portal" are people not understanding? Come on guys, it's a new concept, but the Department home page has the link on a huge banner with instructions on how to set up an account.

Lots of Cell Tower workers busy the last week or so, whats up?
1uglydude replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
You're also going to see a lot of new small cell "mini" towers going up in high traffic areas. These are smaller facilities built to go on street light poles and traffic signals where higher bandwidth is needed in localized spots. Verizon wants to put up close to 70 in my jurisdiction alone. -

I'm seeing a lot of requests to amend leases to allow for the installation of backup generators on older towers come across my desk. Supposedly a new FCC requirement. -
Interested in the pistol

It's a specific request, but does anyone have one they'd be interested in parting with? The ones available on gunbroker exceed my budget once you start adding in shipping and transfer fees. Plus, I'm looking for something basic, no frills. (Yes, your handmade leather holster is gorgeous, but I'm not going to pay extra for it because you insist on including in the package....etc).

Let's Make a Deal if you have 12 or More Bonus Points
1uglydude replied to azbullelkman's topic in Elk Hunting
I did a quick look at the comments...and it didn't appear that anyone pointed out that his notion that 7 points gives you "pretty good" odds in 3C is completely false. Your odds don't go up measurably until you get into the bonus pass. For 3C that required 10 points for residents last year, and was only guaranteed with 11 points. -
Solid copper bullet better performance on larger animals or smaller coues?
1uglydude replied to apache12's topic in Long Range Shooting
^^^ same bullet, same velocity, but out of a 257 wby. One shot kills on 3 coues, one spike elk, and 3 javelina. In fact, on just over 20 kills between me and family the last few years using my handloads with the TTSX in seven calibers (from 221 fireball up to 30-06), we have never had to take a second shot and have never lost a critter. We've missed a few, but that wasn't the bullet's fault. -
Not only do you lose your points, they don't let you put in the next year either. Stay away from leftovers.

Savage 110 in 270 win. This is the older style 110 with the top side bolt release and pre-accutrigger. The prior owner had a gunsmith work on the trigger and it breaks clean and crisp. It's mounted in a very comfortable rubberized Houge stock and appears to have an aftermarket trigger guard. I really like the stock, and it's definitely an upgrade over OEM, but I don't own another rifle I can mount it on. Comes with the bases and rings in the photo. Located in Gilbert. Cross posted. $375

H&R 22 lr Sportster Youth rifle. This thing is not as small as a cricket, but it's definitely a small kid gun. Break action. Simple and safe to use. If you can find one, the barrel can be swapped with a 22 mag. Located in Gilbert. $95 firm.

I didn't see your comment that way. I was just giving you a hard time. In the last few years I have found myself hunting with an AR15, and I'm in the process of finishing up an AR10 in 7mm08 (hence the need to sell this rifle). Ten years ago I would have called you a filthy liar if you told me I'd be hunting with such monstrosities. Any interest in the three way deal he suggested? I know he's talking about a 30-06, instead of a 270, but I'm up for creative solutions.
