Posting this for a friend... 700 ADL in 7mm Mag. Rifle is in a nice walnut Boyd's stock with a generous butt pad. Has been floated and bedded. Trigger cleaned up by competent gunsmith and is nice and crisp. Cosmetic Blemishes: 1) Prior owner painted the barrel, but apparently took off quite a bit of the bluing to do it. Photos show the color difference from the blue of the action to the barrel. 2) During the bedding process the stock took a tumble and left a pretty good dent in the underside. He is looking to get $350. Located in the east valley.

No longer SPF...buyer changed mind.

They aren't closing down hunting, just all access by non-tribal members across the entire rez. Tribal members can still hunt. But since non-members can't access the rez anyway, their resolution also suspended all of the issues licenses.

My brother in law's portal was updated within the past 30 minutes. He got a leftover tag.

First, I have 250 factory overrun Fusion 7mm 160gr. I don't own a 7mm mag anymore, so I no longer have use for them. I have always been pleased with the performance of the fusion bullets. They hold together well on game and all of my rifles (across several calibers) have seemed to like them. They have a cannelure because they were originally intended for use in factory ammo, but are otherwise the same bullet federal now offers in component form for about 30 bucks per 100. I'm asking $45 for 250. Second, I have 200 blemished 30 cal 190gr Accubond Long Range I purchased from Shooters Pro Shop a while back. I never tried them, deciding instead to stick with the 180gr AB. A few of the jackets look slightly discolored, but no more so than any other bullet would look if it sat exposed to the air long enough. $70 for all 200. I'm located in the east valley. Could meet up pretty much anywhere along the 60.

How long is it inside?

7mm are SPF

Was it deep in the muscle, or sitting just under the skin?

And even if they did, freezing does not kill the type of trichinella worm that is most prevalent in the southwest.

Crap...I went to the bathroom and missed this one! 🙂

That ammo is loaded with the Partition. It will work fine for bulls. Just keep the distances within his comfort zone.

If you want to go lead free, the Barnes factory loads in 120gr are hard to beat. If you dont mind lead, the cheap Hornady American Whitetail round shooting the 139gr interlock will handle a cow just fine. They are very reasonably priced for what you get. Save your brass in case you ever learn to reload. (Or send me a PM and I might be in the market to buy some of it off of you). 🙂

The only problem with giving one email address is that the confirmation receipt they send you doesn't have the applicant's name on it. It o ly has the cardholder. If you have multiple applications for multiple people you have no way of telling which one goes with which person. If you are changing all applications, then it isn't necessarily a problem, but if only one or two have an issue you are screwed.

Favorite Elk Bullet? Average shot distance in AZ?
1uglydude replied to excaliber's topic in Elk Hunting
I prefer a bullet that holds together better than a Berger or even ELD-X for the simple reason that I don't want to have to cut a way meat near the main wound channel just to avoid getting lead in my burger. Historically, I always used Barnes bullets, but I'm open to bonded bullets for certain applications. This past season I made the mistake of going with the 150gr LRAB in my daughter's 7mm08. They were the most fragile bullet I've ever seen. Accurate, but absolutely fell apart. Between her kills, me using it on my deer hunt, and letting the neighbor boy use it, the rounds took down five animals last fall, but I had blood shot meat and pieces of bullet sometimes more than a foot away from the main wound channel. My good friend started working for a processor recently, and they have a running joke every time "another 6.5 ELD-X" animal comes through the line. It kills them, but if you hit them in the shoulder you make a huge mess. -
I hear that the meat is delicious.

If it's the same place we both hunt, I called the BLM four years ago to report people driving that road and the guy I talked to was extremely rude and pretty much said he didn't give a dang. The problem is that there is a private parcel landlocked way back in there, and there is a long legal battle over the scope of access the property owner should have, otherwise that road would have been wiped out years ago. Sad to hear the herds are still declining there. I hunted it last two years ago and we struggled to find them. When we did, they were small herds. I don't think it's overhunting. It takes too much effort to get back there and historically the herds were far too large. I feel like it's cyclical and/or disease. The last time I was out there I saw four times as many burros as I did pigs, so maybe that competition for water has something to do with it.

Actually, when it comes to IT professionals, the State of Arizona (and most government entities for that matter) pay the absolute worst in the industry. A skilled software engineer can make two to three times more working for private industry than he can working for the state. So, what happens? Most often (but not always) the only software guys who will take the low pay are the ones who can't cut it in the private market. The Commission has said that they don't want to contract out the draw process to the private entities that run them in other states, so instead we end up with a "home grown" draw system put together by the guys who are willing to work for peanuts. That's not how you get your best product.
