  1. Gene, I did say that the game and fish were trying to sneak another one under our radar and i still believe that is what happened here. I spoke with a commissioner two days ago and he and i spoke at length about the rules and how it was discussed at the commission meetings that no one ever attends but a very few--one of the very few is the originator of this post and i believe he is one of the only people who actually works hard to find loopholes in the ruling. I believe the department can do a much better job of informing us the customers on changes or new rules and if they did there wouldn't be this problem of being surprised when and email hit my and a lot of others email in-boxes. The thing i do not like about your response is that you say that many of the scenarios that were mentioned would never happen but as a law and as a person who has seen the law work (both good and bad) i have to say that you can not promise 100% that this would never happen--you can't because you would not be the judge who would be making those decisions--and yes i think a WM would have the opportunity to cite someone on something like this if they felt the need to do so. I believe the department does a good job and i never felt any different but i can tell you that this rule was not broadcast too well and if you want us not to be paranoid then why not send this information along with all of the other emails i get from the game and fish? How about a "News" email that goes over this type of rule change and all of the others that the department is working on?? How hard would that be for the department to let us all know what is on the agenda at the game and fish department?? Why do we have to wait to find this kind of rule change out by an email that was sent to our in-box?? Communication is the best way to relieve opinions of hunters and anglers of our state and if the game and fish want us to not be concerned then by all means inform all of us and we then can say--well, we saw it in the email and now here it is--if we then do not respond or comment on the rule then shame on us. Thanks for your input but as KRP has stated i am sure you all could do much better with the language of this bill.
  2. I like the spot where Doug would spot from but as the temps start to rise so will your scent--i think my plan of attack would be to go behind the mountain and work my way into a draw where i could get the sun to my back and hopefully the wind in my face. I wouldn't cross in front of the mountain where the road is at if i planned on hunting anywhere near that big draw--it will alert too many deer and if there are hunters hunting from that side i should be able to get a few looks at bucks as they retreat to the top and over the side of the mountain i decided to go up. Like Jim said this is all IF the wind and the pressure were the way i though they would be and that doesn't always happen.
  3. Thanks Amanda for the clarification. I did add some of my own thoughts to the post and i feel this is just another attempt at pulling the wool over all of our eyes and doing what ever they can to make it more difficult for people who just want to hunt and fish to do what they love to do.

    Family Shed trip.

My only guess would be that he was injured before he finished growing and he never fully rubbed the rack off--or, maybe he was just an old bull who didn't have that drive any longer??

I agree Kevin---and i also agree with Doug that teachers are under paid and under appreciated--
  9. Mike, Thank you. I understand the love part as i have always loved God as i have my own father here on earth--sure, when i did wrong i feared him being disappointed in me but i never feared the belt at all--i figured the belt was the least of my worries. Thanks a bunch!
  10. Interesting reading. I have one question though--why do we need to fear our father in heaven? I do not fear God but i do fear disappointing him. He is my father i want to make him proud but i have never feared him. Maybe someone can explain the word "fear" is it really some other meaning?? As for Israel attacking our great country--not sure about that but i do know they will stop the cancer in any way they can before destroying any country. I have never understood the "Fear God" statement.

    AZ turkey hunts! Who's going?

hey guys--at this very moment there is a plan coming together for a big youth camp for the spring hunt. It will be located somewhere in the middle of 23, 4a and 4b--we are putting the final touches on it and have a ways to go but it will take place. The Arizona Game and Fish, AES, ADA, and the NWTA, along with the Chandler Rod and Gun Club are all pitching to get this thing rolling. If some of you did not get a tag and would like to help out with this camp we could sure use the help---i will post the info as i get it finalized.

    The "Spending Bill"

easy--he appealed to the the youth and the blacks--the youths have no parenting and the blacks wanted their first president. I doubt God has anything to do with any of this i think he made it clear the last time that he would not interfere with the world if it goes the way it went when he flooded the earth last time. People want it easy--he told us all he would make everything better--people hated Bush (not me) and they wanted change--change is what he promised and they drank it like it was water---he will drag this country even further down the tubes but i think when the time comes the real people of this country will step up and make a change to the better.

    The "Spending Bill"

Gino, That is why they have no rednecks in those seats--we think with common sense. The best thing about us rednecks is we started to learn a few things and now we have these wonderful sites to protest and educate others--they truly fear all of us middle class hard working folks because we are a lot like insurance--you hate to pay for it month after month but they know they are dead with out us. Not sure how this will play out but i bet there will be a whole lot more of us who lose our butts while the rich get richer and the poor become greater--very sad!

    big pig

Nice job on the pig--to let you know my pig i shot Friday had the same two holes--one in and one out. I think because they are so light boned and such light skin that the bullets don't have time to really expand. I use a T/C 240 grain shockwave with a hollow point--wish i could have found the bullet but it went through and i don't know where it went after that. I shot my pig at 46 yards. Funny how a 38 pound pig weighs 150 pounds by the time you get back to the truck!!

    Javelina Question

Some of the best hunting can be done by tracking fresh sign in the snow--if the weather will not cause you any problems and you know where they are i say go out and find some tracks and sneak in on them!
  17. You never let the ref beat you. The Cards lost because they came out playing a different game than the last two they played. They never started to play the passing game until the second half and by that time we were way behind. We were the best passing team in the league and the Steelers were the best defense (line) in the league--we should not have tried to run up the middle at all and we should have stuck to the plan that was working. The Cards beat themselves folks but dang they sure made me proud of them this year!! I have read all kinds of stuff about the game and i have to say that it was the best Super Bowl i have watched in many, many years and it should go down as one of the top 5 that ever was played---and that says a bunch about how both teams played.

    Savage Striker?

Had one Mike--it was in the .270 WSM round and it just about busted my thumb every time i shot it. I know one thing for a pistol it was deadly accurate and if not for the pain it caused me i would have loved to keep it. I shot a coyote in Wyoming with it at 230 yards (off of a tripod). I like the Contenders better though--mostly because you can change the barrels out and shoot whatever you want with one frame.
  24. With Denmark you need a certain amount of meat for them to start with and they do batch the meat--so if you have a bunch of elk that you have they will usually batch it with other folks game to make it worth their while to crank the machine up. That said i have never had any issues with what they have made for me over the years. Amanda is correct about Miller's they are a class act and they help the ADA and other groups with meat for the youth camps.
