  1. Yes, your eyes are not deceiiving you. I found some Federal GM215M primers a couple of weeks ago and bought all I could for myself and some buddies. After I got my buddies all they need I have about 2000 left over. I'd like to spread them out a bit because I know a lot of guys have been looking, so I'm going to limit it to 500 per person for now. $25 for 500 I cannot ship, and I'm only charging a couple of dollars over what I paid so you need to be able to meet me in the Phoenix east valley. I work in Tempe and live in Queen Creek. Thanks

    Rifle for 10 Year Old

I have to agree with this in some ways. While I did not let Taylor practice with it, she used my .300RUM w. brake when she was 11 for her first bull elk too. Lots of time behind a .223 & .25-06AI for practice. This is a great point. Best way to get a kid ready and comfortable is a couple thousand rounds down a 22lr before they start to move up. Build those good habits with something that doesn't scare them or beat them up and those habits will translate to larger rifles and in hunting situations. Maybe the best thing I did for my son was to get him his own 22lr when he turned 8 and let him shoot the heck out of it for a couple years. Maybe just a proud pappa talking here, but since he turned 10 (he is now 12) he has taken a whitetail, a muley, two elk, a turkey, and more small game than I can remember, and he has yet to miss his mark. If we are lucky enough, he might add another deer and his first javelina to that total this weekend.

    Rifle for 10 Year Old

My son shot his first deer at 10 with my 300 RUM, and several other animals since. It has a good brake on it and it is all he wants to hunt with ever though we have several smaller calibers. My point is, don't feel like you have to get a kid a smaller caliber so they can handle it now. Even the big guns with a little aftermarket work are very manageable and might give them greater flexibility of animal species long term.

You don't know me, my rational, or the facts. I bought what I thought my friends and I needed. No I did not buy everything they had. Turns out we didn't need everything I bought, so I'm trying to help some others on here out rather than hord them. You are right. I'm not looking to make a big profit. Once all of these are sold I will be up about $5. Much less than the cost of gas and my time to meet up with people. I do it because helping out other guys on here and making new friends with like minded people is far more valuable than making a few dollars. You might give it a try. Seems like a better thing to do than rip a guy for trying to help some fellow hunters out.

    trailer rental

I've rented from a few guys, some were great and some were terrible! The past few times I have rented from a couple of guys who work for Rowley White RV in east Mesa. Each time has been a really good experience. They work on RVs and so their toy haulers have always had everything clean and in good working condition (unlike a few other piles of junk I have gotten stuck with). Let me know if interested and I will PM you the number. I think they are in the neighborhood of $100 per night. Probably cheaper for longer periods.

    Tikka Rifles

Agree completely with what has been said. I have a Tikka t3 in 7mm mag and a 7-08. Both shoot under MOA. I haven't been able to get a load dialed to my satisfaction for the 7-08, but the 7mm mag is close to 1 inch groups at 200 yards with no work done to it. It is my preferred pack rifle. My Sendero 300 RUM will out shoot them both, but weighs about 3 times as much and cost about 3 times as much (not including custom work done to it). Also agree completely with what was said about the included rings. They are garbage. Throw them away and get some Talleys. I also like the adjustable triggers on the Tikkas and highly recommend turning the trigger pull down. I have mine as low as they will go which is almost right at 2 lbs.

This is why some people don't deserve to hunt

I just looked this up. Unfortunately it appears to have been taken down. I really wanted to read the comments.

    Finally, The Holy Grail!

Yep, still recovering from the last run/shortage, and we might have another run in the making here in a couple weeks.

    Finally, The Holy Grail!

Sportsman's Warehouse in Mesa HAD a couple thousand. They still had a bunch of the large rifle. Might have some at the other Sportsmans stores.

Looking to buy a chocolate lab pup

Our lab we got from Barb got really sick a few weeks after we brought her home. Turned out to be a totally fluke thing that wasn't any fault of genetics or the breeder. Regardless, Barb insisted on paying our vet bills that ended up being almost twice what we paid the for the pup. All along sge thanked US for taking such good care of the puppy. Our Remi is now 7 months old and doing great thanks to Barb. Doubt most would get that from their breeder.

Going to give you the benefit of the doubt that your comment wasn't a shot at Barb. She is a pretty awesome lady.

Looking to buy a chocolate lab pup

I'd recommend Barb's House of Labs. Several members here have bought from her, including me. She also donates a pup each year to the Arizona Deer Association for auction.

    Tripod and head suggestions

I have two setups. One for me and another for a hunting partner (usually my wife or son). The first is an Outdoorsman tall tripod with the Manfrotto 700 rc2 head. The second in the Slik 723CF with a Vanguard PH-113V head. I love both setups and switch between them a lot. The Outdoorsmans tripod is awesome. I love it, but at a price tag of about $600 (with the center post extension) it would not be my top choice and is definitely outside the budget you suggested. I picked it up for a smoking price at an auction. Were it not for that deal I highly doubt I would have it. The Manfrotto 700rc2 is a great head in your price range and I highly recommend it. The Slik CF series of tripods are great and really hard to beat for the price. This would be my go to in the "best bang for your buck category". I also prefer the twist legs type. I think I paid around $200 for mine. I had originally planned to get another Manfrotto 700rc2 for it when I came across the Vanguard PH-113V. I was looking for something with a little higher weight capacity for when my son mounts my heavy Sendero rifle using a Triclawps setup. The Vanguard lists a weight capacity of about double what the Manfrotto head does and weighs a couple ounces less. I have used Vanguard products in the past and have always been very impressed and happy with them, so about a month ago I ordered one from Amazon to try. I can confirm that the Vangaurd does feel a bit more stable. There is a bit of wiggle in the Manfrotto head when the horizontal screw is loosened that I don't get in the Vanguard. I also prefer the larger Vanguard base plates. I have only been using it and comparing the two for about a month now, but so far I would have to give the slight edge to the Vanguard head over the Manfrotto. That said, I like them both a lot and will continue to use both. Another good choice for someone looking to get both tripod and head for under $200, would be the Vanguard Alta+ 264 AO. Not as good as the previously mentioned combos, but great for the price.

    Unit 1 Youth Success

This guy's hunt lasted about 15 minutes as he dropped this lady at 6:15 this morning. His friend shot his 15 minutes later. Time for some fishing.

    New Vortex Razor HD 27x60x85

Thanks. I used my LG G5. LG doesn't have the phone following of Apple or Samsung, which is fine by me because there phones seem to be a little less money. But I think the G5 probably has the best phone camera in the industry. I used to be a Samsung guy but switched when they started sealing their cases so you couldn't swap memory cards or batteries. I can take a couple of extra batteries when I am camping and be good for a few days. I've found the LG phones to be nearly identical to Samsung in function with a few extra cool features.
