Like the title asks, I'd like to know what your opinions are on the best "non-steak house" restaurant in the valley, particularly in the eastern or central areas of the valley. I know lots of great steak places, but am looking for something different to take my wife too. Thoughts? Thanks

I used to live in Brazil and love some Brazilian churrasco. Didn't realize this one opened. -

Okay, maybe not really, but you can believe that if Jason Hairston slapped his Dall sheep logo on it, guys would be lining up for it. -
Years ago my eye doctor to told me to never wipe my glasses with anything without first running them underneath water to remove the fine dust particles that will leave micro scratches as you press the particles into the lenses as you wipe. Obviously, you would run your binos under the sink. Instead, use compressed air to blow away the particles and then wipe with eye glass cleaner that you can pick up in any eye glasses store or department.

Badlands Down Jacket - Deep discount, worth it?
rossislider replied to Coach's topic in The Campfire
I have noticed that the poofiness and outer shell seems nearly identical to the Kuiu Superdown. I had the same reaction when I first saw received it. I suspect the Badlands version will be very similar. I asked an "expert" about it (the superdown) and he told me it is the difference between quality down and cheap stuff you might pick up in a low end department store. Unlike the really poofy stuff, high quality down doesn't need to be super thick and poofy to get the job done. Also, like with the Kuiu Superdown, I wouldn't wear it through nasty thick stuff like catclaw, mesquites, etc. I don't think the shell will hold up to that. Again, I was told that it is a warm outerlayer meant to be packed around till you stop moving and start to really cool down, like when glassing for hours. Time will tell. I am anxious to put mine to the test. -
For any of you who aren't signed up for Badlands December Daily Deal emails, there have been some ridiculously good deals. Today's might be the best one yet. Their Stealth pack, normally priced at $149 is $59 for today only. You have to use promo code BLSTEALTHDDD17. Guy messed up, but did the right thing after recognizing his mistake. I think the treatment he got was a bit excessive in light of the self reporting. I also have a problem with the "poacher" label he got.

Nice! I didn't order the down jacket the other day. But after hearing yesterday from everyone who loved theirs, I went back and tried to order one. Unfortunately, the promo code wouldn't work. Looks to be working again this morning and I got one ordered.

How is the fit on that jacket?

This is why you ship all your hunting purchases to the office and sneak it in when she isn't home. If your situation is anything like mine, you have so much hunting gear and crap that she is completely oblivious to the addition of another piece every now and then, even if you have it out right in front of her. The trick is getting it in the house for the first time when new. Also, don't be naive enough to think she doesn't do the same with things she knows you can't (or don't want to) keep track of like jewelry, shoes, purses, etc. Ever notice a different pair of shoes and ask "New shoes?" only to get the reply, "No, I"ve had them forever, just haven't worn them in a while." Yeah right!

Current Badlands December Deal of the Day
rossislider replied to rossislider's topic in The Campfire
Most of the reviews on this particular product said it runs small in length and to order a size up. I have a couple of their products (pants and jackets). I am about 6'4" and about 220 lbs. My waist is about 38" (depending on the time of year ). In traditional sleeve length I am a 35"-36" (back of mid neck to wrist) and my leg inseam is 32"-34". I normally wear XL and would say that XL in Badlands fits just about right for me. I wouldn't mind an extra inchr, but that is because I like my sleeves and inseam to be long I'd say the fit of Badlands is "athletic" (on the snug side) but the length on both pant inseam and arm length has been good. Hope this helps. -
