I've had several over the years including some expensive, and some relatively cheap ones. My wife got me this one for Christmas a few years ago after my last one broke. Being a relatively inexpensive brand from Walmart, I didn't expect much from it. It has been my best one to date. Quite small and compact, but has a very strong beam. Holds a charge for a good amount of time, but can also be plugged into a vehicle outlet. I charge it up and throw it in the truck every time I head up north. I'd buy the exact same one again if it broke or got lost. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stanley-FatMax-10W-LED-Lithium-Ion-Rechargeable-Spotlight/38243763?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&adid=22222222228027572428&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=57949642488&wl4=pla-81845423808&wl5=9053836&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=online&wl12=38243763&wl13=&veh=sem

I'll be making multiple scouting trips up there throughout the summer and going into fall. My info won't be much good to you on a late bull hunt, but I'd be happy to help if I can.

Standman for the win! Mean looking little suckers!

No correct guess yet...

Anyone want to take a guess at this one my son is cleaning? No one has been able to guess it yet. (sorry to hijack)

I run the 12x50sELs with the new Vortex 85 spotter. I do so because I can still hand hold the 12s for short periods and I don't want to pack two pairs. I've never used 15s so I can't compare. But I can find anything within my range with the 12s and pick it appart with the spotter. Again, I can speak from experience, but I would rather have more crispness over a little more magnification.

+1 for Sven here in the valley. I only know his pricing on geese and ducks.

Agreed, always wear hearing protection if possible with any caliber. I know too many guys in the generation ahead of me with terrible hearing from years of shooting without protection. I always hunt with some of the little plastic plugs in my most accessible pocket when hunting.

Your big 5 port one would be plenty. I have a 3 side port Badger Thruster brake on my 300 RUM and my son has been shooting it since he was 9 and loves it. Just have him talk to Eric and he will steer him in the right direction.

Roof for ranger crew? where/what to get
rossislider replied to 1denogean's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Where is that? Thats a heck of deal. heck a decent canvas one is $100. I'm in. Yeah, that is a screaming deal! I have one of the hard plastic ones from the dealer, but they run $500+. I'd like to know the name of the metal shop as well! Either way, they are worth the money to keep the sun off of you. Especially if you have a crew and ride a lot with the wife and kids along. -
How many pieces of 556 do you have? What is the condition/status, cleaned, deprimed, etc?

Backcountry Hunters & Anglers April Pint Night

Eventually I'm going to make it out to one of these. -
Hey Tom, I'm already committed to a Boy Scouts fundraiser that weekend, you wouldn't want my help on a turkey hunt anyway. But I've got you covered on the sleeping bag if you still need one. Let me know if a 0 degree bag that measures 90"x36" will work and I will get it to you. Sean

Female Bobcat ready for taxidermy FOR SALE
rossislider replied to couesaholic65's topic in Classified Ads
Here is the word for word response I received: "By letter of the law no. A motor vehicle isn't a lawful method of take. We do allow individuals who find old (sun bleached with no meat or flesh) carcasses to keep them so there is some grey area for sure."- 45 replies

Female Bobcat ready for taxidermy FOR SALE
rossislider replied to couesaholic65's topic in Classified Ads
Nothing against picking up roadkill in az.Actually, I spoke with an AZGFD warden just yesterday about picking up a small game road kill (nothing to do with this post). The answer was, while there is a bit of gray area, no it is not legal to pick up since it is "not a legal method of take".- 45 replies

I'm bad at this game with goats, but I'll guess low 80s,

On a related note, anyone know the going rate per sf for concrete these days? I'd like to put a pad up the side of my house eventually.
-
Not for me. I don't care to look through the spotter for extended periods. I primarily use the spotter to verify or to digiscope.
-
I carry 12x50s in my harness for brief hand holding and on the tripod. The 85 spotter comes out of the pack if I need to get a closer up look at anything.

Awesome! Can't wait to hear more.

28 Nosler 30 Nosler 33 Nosler
rossislider replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'm very interested in building a 28 Nosler. It would be like combining the ballistics of a 7mm with the power of my 300 RUM. I know the 7mm RUM already exists, but it seems to add another option. I know new site sponsor Axis Works has built 28 Noslers for some friends. You might give Eric at Axis Works a call. -
This past elk and antelope draw couldn't have gone much smoother. Hope they don't tinker too much.

Maybe we should schedule a Saturday early morning out our way at the base of some mountain range like the San Tans where everyone interested brings their optics and we line them all up side by side and give everyone who comes a chance to look through them and see what they think. Could be a fun little CWT get together. So who's going to make this happen? Adam (Big Browns) and I talked about making it happen this weekend. Unfortunately we ran into issues/commitments with both Saturday and Sunday (Easter weekend) that we weren't able to work out. We were hoping for the weekend because turkey hunts will start the following and by the time those wrap up, it will probably be 110 degrees at 5:00 AM. We'll see if we can figure something out before it turns into a furnace. Any suggestions?
