Anyone willing to share realistic field tested reports on the ranges you can hit with this model?

Sorry, I also have no knowledge of those areas, but will add what we have learned. Our "prime times" for seeing pigs this time of year, and especially this year, tends to be in the 9:00 AM- 10:30 AM window. They don't seem to like to get up and move around until it gets a little warmer and then they like to get in the sun (east and south east slopes are good). Then we usually find them bedding around 11:00. Look for piled up lumps that could easily be mistaken for rocks in the shade up and under trees. Then again around 4:00 PM till dark they tend be get active and moving again. Good luck, sorry I can't be of more help. It took my son and I several years without success to get them figured out, each time getting a little closer. But once we broke through we have had back to back to back successful hunts.

That's a great day and experience. To bad you didn't have a lion tag, but good for you for doing the right thing and teaching your son right. A lot of people would have shot the cat and then headed into town for a tag.

I love everything about this! Restoring elk populations to their native ranges is conservation at its finest. The fact that they are taking them out of Arizona says great things about the elk in our state. We have very strong populations and the healthiest elk in the country, free of the diseases elk are experiencing in many other states. 50 cows an 10 bulls are a drop in the bucket of what we have in this state. But if it cost me an extra year before I drew a tag, I'd be happy to do it. I hope this current program is successful and continues to expand to other states.

LOL, the rocks were only going 30 yards and not making enough noise to bother the pigs (am I still allowed to call them pigs in here).

We knocked a couple down out in 37b yesterday. They are there, but the lack of moisture has changed their patterns. -
I lived in Idaho Falls as a boy. Great small city and fantastic area for the outdoors enthusiast. Typing this is making me think I need to plan another trip up to the South Fork of the Snake to get after those browns.

Sounds like an awesome day! Congratulations.

Great post, thanks for keeping the CWT on top of this. -
Congratulations! I love when I see a whole deer strapped to a pack. Life size mount maybe?

We would love to have it, but since we are in the valley, it probably won't work out. -
I have a friend who is in the business. Several people I know have used him and have nothing but good things to say. Mark Taylor with Peoples Mortgage Company 480-276-8656

I used to own this title (5 years before we finally figured it out and broke through), but now my son and I have knocked them down on back to back hunts, so I was happy to pass it on to someone else. -

You might want to double check your regs, I think you are looking at last years when the date was the 27th. This is from this year: -

Lots of pigs in there, should be a good time. -
Anyone from here going to be at the Queen Creek hunter's education course that starts tonight? If you missed the sign up for this one (it is full) there will be another in Queen Creek that still has open spots starting on Feb 26th.

Looks like a great hunt!
