I also use paracord. When you melt the tips, also heat up (but not melt) about 3/4" at the end. It will make it hard and easier to push through any eye loops.

I haven't hunted with them personally, but have heard really good things about Van and crew. What species and unit are you looking to hunt?

Congratulations! I believe I saw that deer in hanging in camp?

I hear you. I figure I have about 9 more years of youth hunts to go till my youngest one is past the youth hunt age. When those are done I hope to transition and spend more time helping out at youth camps and maybe mentoring at some of them. Lots of great people have helped me and my kids along the way. Until grandkid's youth hunts come along (better not be for A LONG TIME), I hope pay back some of the debt that way.

Hey, I just realized Shooter McGavin and crew made a cameo in one of the pictures above!

Glad you were able to get out with the family! Hunting humbles all of us at times, just when we think we are starting to get it figured out, nature kicks us junk. Thanks for sharing, I enjoy hearing about hunts like these very bit as much as the kill stories.

That's awesome buddy! Congrats to you all!

LOL, I was referring to the art work on the side of the truck. -

That is good stuff! I enjoyed the write-ups quite a bit. That sucks about to co-op buffalo hunter. Congrats on the buffalo and cow elk. I had to laugh a little when I saw your art work and the AZ pin striping on your truck. I think I had the exact same moment on Draysen's elk hunt a few weeks ago with our truck. We went in tight between some mesquites and could hear the deep scratches. I shuddered when I first saw them, but then accepted that if I wanted to have a serious hunting rig, "pretty" wasn't going to be in the equation. Mentally it was a pretty liberating moment, just as you described. The trick was selling my wife on it!🤣😥 -
Thanks! The rifle is a Tikka T3 stainless barrel in 7mm-08 with a Shrewd muzzle brake. It isn't a super aggressive brake, but perfect for that rifle in that caliber. Both Kembria and Kursty love to shoot it. I would compare the recoil to that of a 22lr. She was shooting off of a Triclawps tripod combo. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the shed. But it is at home with our collection.

Thanks guys. I am just glad that I get to tag along on their adventures, and try not to mess up to much along the way.

I will be up there the following weekend deer hunting. Keep an eye out for any big bucks for me!

Beautiful work! -
She filled her tag opening morning. My son was there to help and scout for his hunt. He has a 33 tag starting December 13th. So after she killed her buck, we went into scouting mode.

I thought I recognized you at the camp. I was there with my daughter and son. She was the little girl who won the 243 rifle in the raffle. Obviously, a great camp for out crew as well! AMDO did a fantastic job!

We have some camo we would like to donate to the next group of incoming hunters. Some was given to us (thanks Lance) and we added some of our own. It is now too small for all of my little hunters. Everything you see is well used, but clean, hole free, and will last through a few more kids. The coveralls are great for cooler weather hunts and did a great job of keeping little bodies warm. Everything is size 10-12. If your new hunter is on the bigger or taller side, these might not work. They don't fit my tall 11 year old daughter or 9 year old son that is as about to pass his sister. Pick up in Queen Creek (Ironwood and Ocotillo) or Tempe (University & Rural). Thanks

Rough start, but it is only getting better from here! -
They should, with some room to grow. I will bring them by when I get your other stuff back to you.

Yeah, we have been hunting 33 for quite a while. I have a few honey holes that haven't let us down yet. The challenge is finding something that will hold still long enough for her to get set up and find it in tbe scope. 🤞🤞🤞

We treated a previous lawn with a heavy dose of this stuff as recommended by a landscaper friend. Killed the grass good! Then just put our rocks on top. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H1U1SS/ref=psdc_3480709011_t3_B008IP2DWC

Seen any good bucks in your neck of the woods? Headed your way for my daughter's youth whitetail hunt this weekend. Can't wait!
