A Must See about High-Cap Mags
rossislider replied to coues7's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Great video and demonstration. Looks like having a smaller capacity magazine would do a fantastic job of giving a would be hero a great opportunity to give the attacker and even better target to shoot at. -

I use to do a lot of climbing and rappelling with the boy scouts. But time and age dont allow me to do this as much as I used to, so I have decided to sell my gear and put it towards my other hobbies. Items include: 150 ft. of 7/16 Static Rope - The rope is in excellent condition and has a strength rating of 32 kilonewtons (approximately 7200 lbs.). It was purchased approximately 1 year ago at Sports Chalet to take a group of boy scouts out ,and was used that one morning only. I have traditionally retired all my ropes after about five years for safety reasons. They become great hunting ropes. 5 Figure Eight Rings 4 Carabiners 3 Harnesses Several Pairs of Gloves BSA Climbing Merit Badge Book Basic Climbing Manual Everything has always been stored indoors in closed bins and is in excellent condition. The gear new would probably run between $400-$500. Asking $150 from a CWT member. I have it listed on Craigslist for $200.

Load Data for S&W AR-15
rossislider replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have had awesome results with 24.5 grains of H335 pushing 55 grain Hornady V-max. But, I also have a custom made barrel that they are being shot through which is also a big contributor. Not the same gun as yours, but may be worth a try. I have never tried it myself but my gunsmith swears by R17 and R19 for a .223 load. He claims it shoots fast, clean, and deadly accurate. -
+1 Well worth the money!

I've watched it several times now and I'm still not convinced. Maybe a lion that lost his tail?

I love to see more and more companies taking this stance. On a side note, I love my 92FS it is a fantastic handgun. -
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like they have some good deals from time to time.

Any idea of what Sportsmans price is on these?

I love this country and the ideals and principles it was founded on. Unfortunately, as we in here in CWT seem to have all noticed, we are moving further and further from these ideals and principles every day. Further, the rate at which we are moving away from them has been increasing exponentially. Sadly, I do not ever see us returning to the greatness that we were during the Reagan era. While I would love to blame our pitiful excuse for leadership in this country, I cannot. The blame lies with the average citizen for allow this to happen and electing these fools into office. Those of us who believe in hard work and self-reliance were once the voting majority. We have increasingly been replaced by lazy uneducated buffoons who believe more in entitlements and handouts. We have been replace by people who ask what your country can do for you— not what you can do for your country. Today’s voting majority is all too willing to trade liberty and freedom for “Obama phones” and the many other lies of evil men and women (and I do not use the term evil lightly). Will we right the course at some point in foreseeable the future? I personally don’t believe so. At least not without and until the divine intervention comes that is foretold in scripture, but that is a completely different discussion. Until then, fight on!

I was fortunate to get drawn in Sportsman's AR drawing last week and picked up a rifle along with this extra 20 round magazine. I have since decided I have more mags than I need. I was going to return it but figured I'd offer it to a CWT member first. You can see on the receipt it was $17.99, so just shy of $20 with tax. The first person willing to come pick it up from me in Queen Creek can have it for $20. Thanks

I know, I should be taken out and beaten for it!

They are all Black Diamond Bod. One was purchased a year ago at the time the rope was purchased. The others are about 3 years old.

Per one members request I have added some close up pictures of each side of the figure 8 rings.

Thanks, if I don't get any offers here I might try it.

That USPS thing is a scam. I have seen it several times. However, if you do the PayPal thing correctly, it can be the safest way to sell something because PayPal offers buyer and seller protection. I have bought and sold several things this way. All you have to give the other party in the way of info is your email address that is inked to the PayPal account. If you would like it explained more, feel free to send me a PM.

Help wanted! Opinions of this buck
rossislider replied to shylopolito's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Very nice buck. I really like the way he turns in up front. -
Last year Swhacker ran their 2 for 1 deals on broadheads a couple of times, once in the early summer and again just before the fall archery hunts started. Does anyone know if this is something they have done regularly in the past? Thanks

Congrats! Glad you got the second shot opportunity and made it count.

MAGPUL INDUSTRIES leaving Colorado!!!

I had heard this same rumor several times about a group, lead by George Soros, purchasing up numerous firearm and ammo manufactures. This list included Bushmaster, Remington, Marlin, DPMS, Dakota Arms, and H&R. I was becoming quite concerned myself so did quite a bit of online research to find out if this was true. What I was able to find out is that these companies were purchased by an organization called The Freedom Group. The Freedom Group is owned by the Cerberus Capital Management. Cerberus Capital Management has been rumored to be owned by George Soros. However, I cannot find any evidence to support this. Rather, Cerberus Capital Management is a privately traded company established in 1992 by Stephen Feinberg. Additionally, Soros' name is not listed anywhere as an executive director of Cerberus Capital Management, but well know conservatives such as Dan Quayle and John W. Snow are. Furthermore, the NRA's website addresses this rumor on their website (see link below). The website further states that the owners of Cerberus and Freedom Group "are strong supporters of the Second Amendment and are avid hunters and shooters." http://www.nraila.org/legislation/federal-legislation/2011/10/internet-rumors-about-cerberus,-freedom.aspx?s=cerberus&st=&ps= -
It is a fantastic bow. Quest/G5 needs to put more into marketing to get their name out there. I personally don't think you can get better bows for the price. Sorry, I don't need a new bow at this time but wish you luck with your sale.

how much is 223 brass worth???
rossislider replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I don't think it is worth anything. As such, I would be happy to dispose of it for you! Truthfully, I am not sure of how to rate mixed .223 brass. Before all of this hysteria started I bought 1000 cleaned, deprimed, swaged, and sized once fired Lake City brass empties for $135. But that brass had been sorted and had a lot of work put into it. Maybe yours might be worth about half of what I paid per 1000 rounds? In reality anything is worth what an individual is willing to pay for it, not what uninterested parties might suggest. Take for example PMAGs that are currently selling for $50. As long as someone is willing to pay it, than that is what it is worth regardless of what it once might have been or could be in the future. .223 brass is commonly sold on Craigslist. I might look on there for ideas of what you might get for it.
