Deadline to update cards is this Sunday night. I'll have my popcorn ready for Sunday night when all the procrastinators come in here and whine like school children about how unfair AZGFD is because the system crashed and they can't update their credit cards.

The front and rear lug pattern are the same on my 2013. I use a front as a spare. Size wise, it isn't as different from the rear as one might think. Biggest difference is width. As previously stated, running a front tire on the rear isn't a long term solution, but it works very well as a short term spare.

l saw some Greenball Kanati Mongrel 8 ply tires at Costo the other day. I really liked the look of them. The look like a great hybred that would last on the hard AZ trails, but still have good traction.

Is anyone familiar with either of these bows? My wife and I are in the process of putting together a silent auction to benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital. Bowtech/Diamond has offered to assist us by selling us one of these bows a a highly discounted rate for our auction. Problem is I am not familiar with either bow. Thoughts??? Thanks

ideas on a rifle for my daughter
rossislider replied to 4Falls's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'll second the Tikka t3 7-08. Light enough for my 10 year old to carry but big enough for elk. I put a brake on ours to lighten the recoil a bit for my wife and son. -
This stuff can't come soon enough!

I tried to make cookies with the pods from the Mesquite tree in my front yard last year. Big NO BUENO! I'm guessing I need to try a different type of Mesquite pod.

Placed a big back order a couple months of months ago (I do this from time to time) and was just informed this morning that it is mailing out today and I should have it in about a week. I have LOTS of Retumbo, a good amount of RL 22, and a few pounds of H1000 coming. It'll come out to $35 per 1 pound canister. You are welcome to buy as many as you need. I live the the Phoenix east valley.

Wow, that's pretty much the base of Greens Peak.

We were headed to Greens Peak to camp over the 4th and hit the archery tournament. Looks like we better come up with plan B. I am hearing there was a big boy scout campout where the fire started?

Phoenix Customs is good. I've used them and would not have a problem using them again. They are just off of Apache Trail and McClintock. I do prefer Dane Customs in Chandler off of Arizona Avenue and Elliot.

Did you check with Sportsman's today or yesterday? I think they get new shipments on Saturday.

Sportsmans is currently selling their Tikka t3s for $100 off. Part of their father's day special. I have a Tikka t3 7-08 for my wife and son. Fantastic rifle! Hope you find one.

Would you rather buy from Big Box stores or the little guy?
rossislider replied to PRDATR's topic in The Campfire
All things being the same (price being the biggest of them) I'd prefer to give my money to the little guy. I shop Bass Pro at times for convenience as it is a couple of miles from my office, but I am not a big fan of their service. They have a few really good reps. But in my experience with them, take their gun counter for example, I usually know substantially more about their products then they do. When I worked in retail years ago, I considered it my responsibility and a point of pride to know more than my customers about my products. I don't find this very often at the big box store guys. If I go to a big box store it is usually because I don't require any assistance or knowledge about my purchase, and because their price is much better. If I need help, I'll go to the little guy. Fortunately, I rarely find that Bass Pro's prices are much better than the little guys. -
I'm still working on my load for my son's 7-08. I am in the neighborhood of 43 grains of IMR 4350 with 140 grain Bergers. I was about to give up on this combo because I couldn't get a group I liked at 100 yards. I was right around or slight over MOA, but expect better. I played around with it a bit and learned that Bergers really don't settle in till they get closer to 200 yards. Odd as it may sound, my groups are tighter at 200 yards than 100 yards with this combo. For me, MOA at 100 yards will get the job done all day when it only gets tighter as you push the shot out further. The info below from Berger should give you a good starting place.

http://www.montanaxtreme.com/recommended-cleaning-procedures/ I've tried a couple of processes and like the one described here the best. You don't have to use their products. Man other companies make their own version of the same stuff. I worked through this process over a few different trips to the range so I could take my time and keep my barrel relatively cool. Click on the bottom link tat says PROFESSIONAL NEW BARREL BREAK-IN PROCEDURE

Acceptable COAL tolerances?
rossislider replied to HuntHarder's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have noticed a pretty substantial difference between when I used COAL and now using the Hornady comparator. I also load with Bergers which I have found can be a bit tempermental when talking distance off the lands. Go with the comparator, you will improve you accuracy. -

As long as your ATV is legal for the roads you are on, and you stay on the roads you are fine. Stage 2 restrictions specify that you can't take your atv more than 10 ft from the road and that is only to park it.
