My 10 year old son and his friend have tags for the unit 37b jr javelina hunt that opens on Friday. When it comes to javelina I'm a bit of a novice myself having only hunted them once before. Anyone have any tips on the unit or the hunt? Thanks

I picked up a Remington 870 20 gauge at Basspro a few weeks ago for my kids. Between the sale price and Remington rebate I think it came to little over $250? I'm pretty sure the deal was going for a while. You might give them a call.

Retumbo is all spoken for.

I have 3 pounds of Retumbo and 3 pounds of H335 available. All in new, unopened, 1 pound canisters. Asking $30 each. Pick up is in Queen Creek or Tempe. I will also headed to Show Low this upcoming weekend. Thanks

"I thought the only positive identification was the tail." The two look about as much alike as a mountain lion and a house cat. Awesome deer, congratulations!

There shouldn't be a filter in the main gear case. Typically any bits, particles, or metal shavings will collect at the lowest point of the tank, right at the drain plug. Your situation seems odd to me. Mine takes a full 34 ounces. I'll throw out a few things that come to mind which might cause this. Could you have the front and rear gear cases mixed up? Did you measure how much fluid you drained out? Is this the first time you have changed out the fluid and how much of the thick graphite anti-seize textured gunk was on the magnetic drain plug? Was the ranger on a slant when you filled it? If it were me, I would hate to waste the fluid I just put in by draining it and starting over. But the money for more fluid would be cheap in comparison to having to replace major parts due to a lack of fluid.

Very mature response. Thanks!

Just went back an read all the posts. As far as I can tell, only the following post referenced patrickjr and I don't see how it was negative or derogatory in any way? "FMJ bullits are not legal to take wildlife in this state.Read the game and fish regs R12-4-303.I would agree with patrickjr .The 17hmr is a good choice if your saving the fur.I use a shotgun for taking 90% of the fur bearers I take.: Patrickjr removed his post right after the one above was written. Here is a link to the thread. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/53458-will-556-damage-fox/ I have nothing but respect for a father looking out for his son, I would do the same for my own. I also think patrickjr comes across as a great kid. I've ready many of his posts and have had a couple of online dialogues with him. He seems very mature and knowledgeable on the topic of hunting for someone so young. But I also remember being that age, and have many years of experience working with young men through the Boy Scouts. I know that young men can be a little over sensitive to someone correcting them or telling them they are not 100% correct. It can be a big shot to the pride of someone that age. Perhaps this is the case and dad didn't quite get the whole story, or read a little to much into what his patrickjr told him?

I have to admit, I am a bit perplexed by this as well. While I did not comment on the post, I did read it and don't recall any attacks or any comments that I would consider to be overly negative or attacking??? I'll go back and look, maybe I missed something?
