The audacity and selfishness of those POS fathers trying to get their kids away from the video games and into the outdoors!

I certainly don't mean to offend by this post, but online applications aren't going away. I must admit, I don't understand all the mistrust with the online application. There certainly are problems with the system, but it seems to me that AZGFD has found ways to correct for bank and credit card issues. Also, the deadline, for reasons I disagree with, always gets extended when the site goes down. While I'm sure there are examples out there, I'm unaware of anyones application getting rejected because of an online glitch. I, on the other hand, have personally had a paper app rejected before because something was filled out incorrectly. At least by doing it online the computer will generally warn me of missed fields or errors on the app. Maybe it is because my job involves working almost entirely in an online world, or because I grew up with computers that I don't share many of the distrust issues shared here. IMO the bottom line is that the online app is not going away. If anything, I would guess that we are within a generation or two of seeing the end of paper apps, as they are more time consuming and costly for AZGFD. The whole discussion reminds me of my studies as a child of the early days of the automobile. Early cars were mistrusted as they were expensive and very prone to breaking down. A common saying at the time by those passing by broken automobiles on horseback was "Get a horse" and many believed the automobile would never be able to replace the horse as a primary means of travel.

If it is like past years, I'm guessing about 90% - 95% of the charges have happened. There will be a few more next week, but it is mostly done. I'm not sure about that. Last year, once they started, hits were happening throughout the day and into the evening hours. My buddy's card got hit at almost 9pm last year. When I got hit for antelope several years ago, it was day two at 730pm. So far this go around, there was a burst of charges in the morning, then it seemed to have slowed, then ended early afternoon. Just seems different. I'm assuming Monday will bring more hits. Or, I'm in denial and trying to convince myself otherwise to ease the pain! Hope you are right, but I'm not optimistic. I've never drawn if it didn't come through with the first group of charges.

POST PICS OF YOUR RELOADING SETUPS
rossislider replied to AxisWorks LLC's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I've considered this, but I think this is a pretty good group on this site. Also, just by coming in here and posting questions, comments, etc., you are pretty much letting the world know you have expensive firearms and outdoor gear in your home. Not sure that a few pictures of a room make much difference. But I think the biggest factor is that no one is posting any personal information like a full name or address. Anyone who is a good enough hacker to somehow get that kind of information from this website probably has potential for much more lucrative targets. Just my opinion. -

Good deal for someone. I have a nearly identical trailer that is 14 foot and use it for everything. Good luck. I'll spread the word to some buddies.

Last week I posted on here looking for a reputable east valley mechanic for my Ranger. Shedhunteraz offered to drive out to my house to look at my Ranger for me. Tonight he came out to my house and helped me out. Great people like Shedhunteraz are the reason why I love this site so much. It was great meeting you, hope I can return somehow return the favor or pay it forward. Thanks again

The time has come- I "got" a dog (pics added)
rossislider replied to ready2hunt's topic in Classified Ads
Unless you want a specific dog to raise and train for hunting, I'd look into a rescue dog. My wife and I have had several dogs over the years. We have had all but one from a pup. The one was a 3-4 year old mutt we rescued. She was the best dog of the bunch and was fantastic with our kids. While just a dog, she seemed to somehow appreciate the second chance she had been given and acted that way. Just something to consider. -
In about an hour and a half (9:00 AM PST) Danner will be doing another one of their outlet sales. They do these about once a month and put a handful of their different models of boot up for sale at prices that are usually over 50% off. The sale usually lasts for a few days or until gone. Everything they sell are either close out or "factory seconds" meaning minor cosmetic blemishes. I've bought 3 different pairs of boot for my family here and have yet to be able to identify any "cosmetic blemish". They have all looked brand new. Sometimes the stuff they put up is not so great, sometimes there are amazing deals on hiking and hunting boots (the last few sales have been lame, fingers crossed for this one). If you haven’t been to the Danner factory outlet site before, you must create a free account to view what is available for any given sale. http://www.hitthebreakroom.com/invite/?r=237537 Here is the gist from their website: WHAT IS THE BREAKROOM The Breakroom is a members only website where you can go to get a break on premium priced boots and accessories from brands like Danner and LaCrosse. We feature bi-weekly sales on a mix of second quality, USA made boots direct from our Portland factory, in addition to discontinued and closeout styles. All boots are discounted between 30% and 70% off original retail prices. IS THIS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? You know how that old saying goes, “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.” Our Portland locals will tell you differently. For the last couple of decades, our Danner Factory Store used to be the only place to pick up Factory Seconds and discontinued products at insanely low prices. We’re now opening up this inventory to all members of The Breakroom. BUT REALLY, WHAT’S THE CATCH? Inventory is random and quantities are limited. That’s why The Breakroom is only open for a few days at a time with a select offering of boots. Our product selection is based on the styles that are currently being manufactured at our Portland factory and seasonal boots that are on their way out. Second quality boots have slight cosmetic blemishes, so if you’re looking for absolute perfection it’s best to do your shopping at danner.com instead. Other than that, you get free shipping in the lower 48 states and 30-day returns, so there’s really not much to complain about. HOW DOES IT WORK? We’ll email you when each new sale is about to start (you can also be updated via Twitter orFacebook). Each sale lasts for 3 days or until the product is sold out. So the earlier you shop, the better. Take a break and check out our current deals right now. Once you make a purchase, we’ll ship your boots out between 3-5 business days and you’ll be one step closer to bragging to your friends about the great deal you got on your sweet new boots.

BITE YOUR TONGUE!!! Having the eairly draw for Elk and Anlelope was one of the best things AZGFD has done. I'm not sure how many people put in but it has to be in the tens of thousands. Sometimes they screw up. Thats a lot of apps to process. We all make mistakes. It sure makes it a lot easier to plan and strategize for other hunts, and going into other draws knowing the outcome of the elk draw.

The deadline to change/update credit cards was last Thursday. There was no email sent out. They took the ability to change credit cards down the following day.

Also heard great things. Also a sponsor of this site! Dang you Shane Koury!!! The rest of my afternoon is now going down the toilet checking my credit cards.

I'm in. I love my Leica 1600B! Since I have one, if I win I pledge to donate this back to another very worthwhile charity. -
I set my Chase credit card up for text alerts on charges over $100. The texts come within seconds of the charges. It's kind of a two for one bonus deal. Not only can I get instant notification of AZGFD elk tags, but I am also notified of my wifes charges before she even leaves the store!

My prediction is that today will be the day, but I will probably predict the same thing tomorrow.

Sportsman's Warehouse is definitely the best of the big three! Hard to beat Amazon as they now seem to have just about everything as well.

Very true. I shop there for convenience (right by my office), rarely if every price.
