I know I'm really late and last minute, but thought I would throw it out there incase anyone has two tickets to the Arizona Deer Association banquet tonight they can't use to sell. My wife and I thought it would be fun to go, but had a family commitment we could not get out of. It just got cancelled. Let me know. Thanks Sean

Another Danner/ Lacrosse Outlet Sale 50%+ Off
rossislider replied to rossislider's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Each sale lasts 3 days. They used to do big sales with lots of stuff every couple of months. Lately it has been smaller sales every couple of weeks. Different stuff each time. It has been a while since they have had Pronghorns, so I'm hoping for those soon. -
In a little over an hour (9:00 AM PST) Danner will be doing another one of their outlet sales. They do these about once a month and put a handful of their different models of boot up for sale at prices that are usually 50% off or more till gone, or for a couple of days. Sometimes the stuff they put up is not so great, sometimes there are amazing deals on hiking and hunting boots. Last month I, and several other here, bought a couple of pairs of Danner boots for $25 each. If you haven’t been to the Danner factory outlet site before, you must create a free account to view what is available for any given sale. http://www.hitthebreakroom.com/invite/?r=237537 Once the sale starts I’ll check to see if they have anything that seems of interest to this crowd. If so I’ll post it up. Stay tuned! Here is the gist from their website: WHAT IS THE BREAKROOM The Breakroom is a members only website where you can go to get a break on premium priced boots and accessories from brands like Danner and LaCrosse. We feature bi-weekly sales on a mix of second quality, USA made boots direct from our Portland factory, in addition to discontinued and closeout styles. All boots are discounted between 30% and 70% off original retail prices. IS THIS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE? You know how that old saying goes, “If it’s too good to be true, it probably is.” Our Portland locals will tell you differently. For the last couple of decades, our Danner Factory Store used to be the only place to pick up Factory Seconds and discontinued products at insanely low prices. We’re now opening up this inventory to all members of The Breakroom. BUT REALLY, WHAT’S THE CATCH? Inventory is random and quantities are limited. That’s why The Breakroom is only open for a few days at a time with a select offering of boots. Our product selection is based on the styles that are currently being manufactured at our Portland factory and seasonal boots that are on their way out. Second quality boots have slight cosmetic blemishes, so if you’re looking for absolute perfection it’s best to do your shopping at danner.com instead. Other than that, you get free shipping in the lower 48 states and 30-day returns, so there’s really not much to complain about. **Rossislider's note** I have now purchased 5 pairs of boots and or shoes from this website (for myself, wife, and kids), and have yet to been able to find any defect, cosmetic or otherwise. Everything has appeared brand new in perfect condition. HOW DOES IT WORK? We’ll email you when each new sale is about to start (you can also be updated via Twitter orFacebook). Each sale lasts for 3 days or until the product is sold out. So the earlier you shop, the better. Take a break and check out our current deals right now. Once you make a purchase, we’ll ship your boots out between 3-5 business days and you’ll be one step closer to bragging to your friends about the great deal you got on your sweet new boots.

Not what I was looking for this time around. Maybe next time: -
Judging distance without a rangefinder
rossislider replied to creed's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I've practiced it enough to know that I really need to use may rangefinder if it is at all a possibility. I've watched to many pros on the Sportsman's channel that are a lot better than I who have misjudged the distances and shot over an animal. -

They will also send you an email right when the sale goes live. -
Didn't Big Browns buy this last week?
-
Aren't you a class act. Join this group only to sell stuff and can't even simply start your own thread. Plus you are out of state. I have to agree with azshtr. I have no problem with anyone coming on here to sell something, But going on someone else's post and undercutting their price is pretty lame.

Wow, nice find!
-
I wouldn't worry about it. I'll bet you get it in the next couple of days. Even if it is lost, it isn't a big deal. Happened to my son's javelina tag last year. It never came so I called AZGFD. They dropped another in the mail to me.

The snow, sleet, rain, and wind really seemed to slow things down for us on the youth hunt this past weekend. I think the strong wind when trying to call might have been the worst of the three. Still, plenty of turkeys were killed by others in camp. Good luck!

With my oldest child now 10 and a couple more on the way behind him, I'm always looking for deals on hunting clothing for them. Not sure why, but it seems that youth camo is more expensive than the adult stuff. Anyhow, after this weekends turkey hunt, I realized by son is about ready some larger cold weather gear and will need it before his December cow hunt. Going into summer, it seems like a pretty good time for deals on winter gear. I noticed today that Bass Pro has some bibs and other stuff on clearance for 50% off right now. Figured I'd pass along the info. Please feel free to post any other deals you find, or maybe even post anything up that your kids have outgrown that you could pass along to another young hunter. There have been some generous hunters on here that have done this service for my family. When my last child outgrows them, I will be paying it forward. Thanks http://www.basspro.com/Kids%27-Hunting-Clothing/_/S-12600004011

Well, we just got back to the valley after a few days up at the Unit 1 Youth Turkey Camp. It was the first youth camp and the first turkey hunting experience for any of us (my buddy, myself, and our two ten year old sons). What a great experience it was! Youth Outdoors Unlimited puts on an amazing camp. Huge thanks to all involved. The four of us put in 3 hard days of hunting with waking up at 2:30 AM to head out and not getting to bed each night till close to 10:30 PM. There was rain, snow, sleet, lots of wind and cold weather, but the boys never gave up. Ultimately we came home empty handed. The boys had one shot opportunity on opening morning, but a little difficulty with the gun safety ended up in not getting a shot off before the birds bolted. We are filthy, exhausted, and were humbled by those birds. But we are already planning a little pay back come this time next year. Again I want to thank all those involved in putting on this camp. The boys are already asking about all the other types of hunting camps to attend. If you haven’t yet been to one, be sure to put it on your list for the near future. Opening morning snow made it cold and quieted down those gobblers! The boys getting some coaching prior to an attempt at calling in a big tom about 100 yards away.

Great weekend at the camp! Congratulations.

If I saw an elk sporting two of those in the woods I'd probably mess myself. Wowzers!

+1 This place isn't much to look at. In fact, it looks like every other crappy strip mall Asian place you've tried. But it tastes nothing like all the the other crappy places. This place is outstanding! They are written up in The New Times "Best Of" every year. Pretty much everything on the menu is under $8. They have a big selection of rice bowl entrees for $4. As Forlorn Hope mentioned they have a huge menu. About a third of the menu is all of the American not really traditional Asian food. The rest is a lot of very traditional Asian things you have never heard of. If you go, you will also notice that the place is very popular with the Asian community, which I think says a lot. Check it out! Also, I'm partial to the Kung Pao Chicken and the Mongolian Beef. I want to try some of the authentic stuff, but the Americanized stuff is so good, I have a hard time trying anything else.

I just got a couple of rifles back from having muzzle brakes installed. The first brake is a Shrewd brake I put on my wife and son's Tikka T3 7mm-08. My gunsmith installed and bead blasted it to match. The second is a Bagder Thruster I had installed on my 300 RUM. Anxious to get out this weekend and see how they shoot.
