  1. This sale's items: Not what I was personally hoping for this time, but I might pick up a pair of the grey and light blue shoes for the wife. Maybe the black and red ones for my son.

    spear fishing idea

I bought one of these and used it in Rocky Point this past year. Lots of fun. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BUHWPLE?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

    load info?

Not really the question you asked, but I like 22.8 grains of h335 with a 55 grain Zmax. Essentially the same bullet as the Vmax but cheaper.

Yeah right...... I'd be happy to list any units but my favorite units. But if you are feeling so inclined, feel free to post trail cam pics and GPS coordinates.

    Hunt Namibia, Africa!

Well Wayne and I did 2 completely different methods. Wayne wanted shoulder mounts of everything he got, besides the zebra that one he will have made into a rug. So he had the local taxidermist dip and pack his trophies and will be hgaving his mounts done up in Young, AZ. That fee I believe was about $50 per animal + his shipping fees. I went with the less expensive method and that is to have all euro mounts done and all hides tanned and felted. All 5 of my animals in that method came out to about $1500 + my shipping to the nearest port. But remember those fees are 4-6 moths down the road as it takes time to get all that completed. If you choose your mounts to be done there the cost is less by about 1/3 but your shipping costs will go up conciderably due to the crate size if you are getting full, pedestal, or shoulder mounts opposed to euro mounts and tanned/felted hides. The choice is all your own and up to individual preference. I plan on going back again and didn't want $5000+ in taxidermy costs when that is the cost of another hunt package! I do not have taxidermy costs for South Africa, but I do have costs from Jasper's in Namibia who is working on my trophies. To give you an idea. Where is your trip taking you? When are you going? Maybe we can get you in at Elandpro for your hunt this or next season! Thanks! For the first part of the trip (the photo safari) we will be at the Zulu Nyala game lodge. It is about 10 miles in from the coast and 20 miles north of St Lucia in South Africa. I have contacted Off to Africa Safaris which isn't to far from there about hunting opportunities. They sent me prices, which did not include taxidermy and shipping fees. If I do hunt I will likely have the animals dipped and sent back here for taxidermy. $50 per animal to dip and package seems pretty reasonable. Any idea of what the shipping might run? They also said their fees do not include "CITIES permits" any idea what those are and what they might run? We are thinking about going in July of 2016, but don't have a firm date. Thanks
  7. Looks like he had all the essentials covered!

    My first solo kayak trip

My wife and I would like to try kayaking sometime. Some of the pictures from your trips have looked amazing. Any places you suggest going and renting kayaks from?

    Basspro..😡😡

Okay, I live out in San Tan Valley/Queen Creek, but my office is a couple of miles from Bass Pro. Was going to offer to return or swap them for you if you were out my way. I go to Bass Pro quite a bit. I go probably once a week to just get out of the office and clear my mind a bit. As a store it is pretty cool, but for a knowledgeable sales staff it is pretty bad. If I'm looking to buy something I make sure I have done all my research before going in. I have found, on multiple occasions, that I was the one teaching their staff about a product (the gun counter is the worst) or helping a customer when the staff had no clue. As far as the big three go (Bass Pro, Cabela's, and Sportsman's Warehouse) Bass Pro is by for the worst and Sportsman's is by far the best, for both service and cost. In all fairness, I've also had issues with Sportsman's at times, but still prefer them to the other two. Several years back I had Sportsman's in Mesa mount and bore site a scope on a Tikka I had bought from them for my wife. The following day at the range, three shots in, the scope went flying off the rifle and into the dirt. I immediately went back to Sportsman's. They same guy was there in the shop. He was nice and apologetic while remounting and bore sighting the scope. Fortunately the scope had not been damaged. The following weekend I was back at the range and sure enough, a couple of shots in the scope was sliding in the rings. From then on I swore I would never rely on a big store shop to do any work on my equipment. I picked up an adjustable torque screwdriver, some Loctite, a gun vise, etc. and have been doing my own work ever since. After putting this particular scope back on myself, using the same rings, it has never budged, and I've never had a problem since I started doing my own work. If I can't do it myself, I'll use my REAL gunsmith. I now have much greater peace of mind when I'm out in the woods knowing that my equipment has been set up properly by me and not someone rushing to get it done. I also thoroughly enjoy doing my own work on my guns, reloading, etc. It might seem a bit intimidating at first, but anymore you can find a "How To" video on You Tube for just about everything. If you want to mount the scope yourself and don't mind driving out to Queen Creek I'd be happy to give you a hand. Good Luck!

    Basspro..😡😡

I'd suggest returning the scope and rings, then check to see if Talley makes rings for your specific rifle to simplify the process. What area do you live in?

    never under estimate

Answer - Why do you need 46 pairs of shoes. My wife isn't a shoe person, but every 6 months (you could set your calendar to it) she decides she hates our home decor and feels the need to redecorate the the whole place. I don't dare say anything because I spend just as much on outdoor supplies. Probably more, but she doesn't need to know that.

    Retumbo?

I load my 300 RUM with exactly 91 grains of Retumbo and also shoot the 210 VLDs. Fantastic load for my rifle.

    Hunt Namibia, Africa!

My wife are going to go next year on a photo safari trip we got at the deer banquet in May. We have looked into adding a few days to go hunting and have rates for that. The one thing we couldn't find are rates to have capes, skulls, etc. shipped back. What did you do there?

    Cameras and heat

Memory cards get well above 115 degrees while in computers and phones, so that shouldn't be a concern. Battery life will probably be shortened at these temperatures.

All of us who have been married for more than 5 minutes have seen this scenario play out many times, yet we never learn.

    Hanging a shoulder mount

I use a big 3 inch lag bolt into the stud for my bull. No need anything more. I'd never go into the drywall alone.

Mitsubishi, I believe it is 32 inches. It has been in our kids room. It works, the picture is okay. Good for a kids room, play room, man cave, etc. Fits perfectly on the included stand. Not asking anything for it. Just come pick it up.

Who is going to Wyoming this year????

^^^All of my extended family is in eastern Idaho. Seems like they all shoot monster bucks (deer and antelope) year after year. Not to mention the insane numbers of monster browns they pull out of the South Fork. They keep inviting me up to hunt but I never seem to have the time. I need to seriously consider this in 2016.

Who is going to Wyoming this year????

The wife and I drew unit 29 tags. It was pretty much a guaranteed draw, but I'm glad it is now official. This is my first antelope hunt. I can't wait!

    What caliber?
  24. I just came across this new Bow Boot by Badlands, designed to click into the existing rifle boot buckles (hidden pockets in 2200, Superday, Recon, etc.) or into the bedroll strap buckles on many packs (as long as it's our latest 1" buckle). Seems like a nice upgrade over just strapping tho bow in or using the gun boot. But I'm curious if anyone has actually seen or tried one. Thanks
  25. Hey Adam, they do them every so often at the Sportsmans Warehouse in Mesa, but I've noticed they never post the Sportsmans classes on the AZGFD website for some reason. Probably makes it easier to get into. I also had a buddy take his daughter to the Superior class. Might be the most convenient option on our side of town.
