What is the breed mix?

I'm always a little paranoid when shooting indoors. I may have put a hole or two in the drywall, but I never did this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=10&v=-rHYY03S0-8

No idea, but in English is probably sounds a lot like profanity.

Looking for advice on raising a child into a hunter
rossislider replied to TonyC's topic in Youth Hunters
I can't claim to be an expert on the subject as my first son is 10 and just turned 11. But I can proudly say that there is nothing that he would rather do than hunt and fish. Just last week we were asking the kids about things they want to do for vacations next year. We threw out lots of things like the beach, Disneyland, Sea World, etc. All he wanted to do was hunt, hunt, and hunt. Before my son was old enough to hunt himself, I took him on several low stress/difficulty hunts and fishing trips with me. I made sure to include lots lots of the following: Treating him like one of the guys, not one of the kids. Lots of riding in the Polaris Ranger or ATVs. Sometimes, with help, he would even get to drive. Plenty of candy, junk food, fast food, soda, etc. Let him help plan the menu, pick snacks at the store, sodas and treats at gas station stops, etc Letting some of the rules slide versus if mom and siblings were around Included some of his favorite activities like catching crawfish after the hunting was over Making him involved (or letting him feel he is helping) with the planning, glassing, field dressing, camp set up (even learning how to use the chain saw) etc. Listening to him, how he was feeling, when he was tired, etc. Going at his pace, not mine. Truth be told his pace is a bit to fast for me. Just remember the things that you loved about hunting, fishing, camping, etc. as a kid and be sure to include those. -
My daughters buck finally mounted

Good call on leaving the ears. Love the battle scar. Congratulations. -
I like Montecs but had flight issues I could never solve so I switched to Slick Trick.

Rather than a bear tag, one of these stores wrote down "beer" on my tag. Could tell where his mind was.

Same as everyone else, hand prime with my RCBS. Like stated above I'll wait and do a couple hundred at a time while watching the a ball game. Priming might be the simplest part of the process.

Thank you. It is going to be a very happy birthday for my boy. A bow and ASU football tickets. Could anyone have a better birthday?!?!

Never been to Ross Outdoors as they are on the opposite end of the valley. I'll definitely check them out next time I'm in the neighborhood or in the market for a new bow. I won't be setting foot in Archery HQ ever again.

The entire basic setup, stud and adapter is in the neighborhood of $85. Unlike my Vortex Razors, the Swaros require that they be installed at the shop by them as the stud won't simply screw on. You should probably plan on a little extra for that service. You won't regret it.

I can't access the page. Must be sold out. -
They have always given me great customer service. I'd suggest calling them or swinging by their shop to see if they can help you out.

All of this current buzz about Hillary will soon die down and go away. The American public isn't what it once was, short attention span and indifferent. We have seen scandal after scandal in recent years, but nothing has come of it. I have little to no confidence that this will be any different.

Nothing like hunting side by side with the hunting buddy your raised. I got to finally have my turn for the first time last year. Congratulations!

+1 For the Outdoorsman stud and adapter, best one on the market. Fortunately for us here in the valley, their shop is in Phoenix. It would be worth your time to take your binos down to their store and talk to them.

I want to publicly thank Amanda and team for making this such a great site. More importantly, I want to thank them for keeping it that way. I've been a little disappointed with a couple of less than tasteful posts and or comments that have gone on here over the last couple of days, and was very happy to see they are no longer on the site. I certainly support everyone's right to free speech, but this is a privately owned and run web site. As such they are under no obligation to allow topics and posts on their site that they find objectionable. Glad to have a great place to talk hunting and share ideas with good people like Amanda and her crew.

Is this the Largest Commissioners Tag Coues Buck ever taken?
rossislider replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Agreed, I have several friends who will no longer post pics and stories in here because of this. I'm on the fence about pics from my family's hunts this upcoming fall. Very sad.- 63 replies

Sportsman's is by far the best of the big three (Cabelas and Bass Pro). But after a couple of problems with a mounting job they did for me a few years ago, I started doing them 100% myself and haven't had a problem since. If you do have Sportman's in Meas do it, only let Tom work on it. He does a good job.

If they make a ring for your rifle, it is hard to beat the simplicity of one piece Talley rings. I would highly suggest these rings so you don't have to mess with bases. Less pieces and less screws equals less parts to get loose and less chance of something going wrong. You can usually find them on Amazon. http://www.talleymanufacturing.com/Products/Lightweight-Alloy-Scope-Mount/Remington.aspx

Anyone shooting the Savage 17 WSMs? They have me intrigued, but I'm seeing mixed reviews on several forums regarding their accuracy. I'm particularly interested in the Savage B.Mag Target. If anyone has shot one, please let me know what you think.
