    TRENTS FIRST

Big congratulations to you and your son. You couldn't be more right about Adam (BigBrowns). He is a total class act. I've come to the conclusion that the only thing he enjoys more than hunting and fishing is helping out fellow hunters.

    Wyoming Tag Punched

***Update*** We just got back into the valley tonight after a straight 18 hour drive. My amazing wife got her buck too, but not without several challenging failed stalks before everything finally came together. I'll get pictures and that story up tomorrow. To tired to think straight tonight.

    Best Route Phoenix to Denver?

We are just now hammering out the fine details for our trip up to Wyoming to hunt antelope in a few day. We will be driving from the east valley to Denver the first day and the rest of the way to Casper the next. My original plan was to drive to Denver via Albuquerque and the I-25. I was noticing tonight that the route via Farmington and Durango is estimated to take a few minutes longer, but is about 100 miles shorter. It also seems like the latter route would be much more scenic? Just curious to see what route any on here might have taken, recommend, and why? Thanks

    Flying southwest with Rifle

Curious to know from all of you who fly to hunt. How do you get your meat, cape, antlers/horns, etc back?

    Best Route Phoenix to Denver?

Seems to be a pretty good consensus. We'll be headed through Albuquerque and the I-25 via Payson and Heber. We have a place to stay just outside of Denver in Aurora and will probably leave Aurora the following morning around 7:00-8:00 AM. Since we will be in Aurora, we'll probably try to avoid rush hour traffic and drive around the east side of Denver by the airport. Hopefully that won't be to bad. Wish we could fly, but with two hunters, gear, and hopefully two goats on the return trip, driving seems like the best option. Thanks everyone!

    Manfrotto tripod

I’m with hoghntr. Whether it be here, craigslist, etc. IMO, if you have set up a time and meeting place, you have essentially told someone that you are giving them the opportunity to buy their item. At the very least I feel someone should give the original buyer a courtesy heads up and opportunity before selling the item to someone else. Ultimately, it is SouthernComfort's item and he can sell it to who and how he wants. But on a site like this, how one does business tends to get noticed and word gets spread.

    Idaho shiras moose tag!!!

A drift boat is really the only way to do that river. I'm amazed at how high they sit in the water and how easy they are to maneuver in swift water. If I ever mover back up there, this would be mu first outdoor investment. My cousins who live just outside of Idaho Falls use a Jon boat just to maneuver from one side of the river to another, but never for trips down the river. Seems like like we are putting our lives on the line every time. One of them invested in a double person pontoon for multiple day trips.

    4A Help

Definitely head for the lower country. I had this hunt years ago and was foolish in my strategy, spending the majority of the hunt in the higher country and saw a number of cows but zero bulls.

Any CW members going to Silver Creek tomorrow?

I wish! One of these years I need to do this. Fall is just such a busy time. How long does this go?

I'd be interested in the Swaro EL binos if anyone else wants to go in on the other two items.

Snake River Browns (and a few other)

I got looking through some pictures with my wife last night and came across these pictures of our last trip up to fish the south fork of the Snake River. We used to do this trip a couple of times a year, but haven't made the time the past couple of years. That needs to change! I've fished all over the west, but this is the only place where I can claim a 4+ pound average, trip after trip, while catching our limits and having to release several times more than what we keep. My cousins who live there pull out at least a couple of 10+ pounders each year. Her first fish she caught 100% unassisted. She was pretty proud of herself. For scale, the cooler is a tad over 2 feet in length

I definitely prefer Military over LR Hunter as it displays both yardage and MOA clicks. Best of both worlds.

    How's about those Cardinals!!!

Since I've accepted the fact that my Devils are going to struggle to even be bowl eligible, they are my only hope for a good post season. They (the Cardinals) look good! Still a little worried about the offensive line against some of the stronger teams. Time will tell.
