Hunter is a bit of a moron who needs to do some homework/research. Otherwise, I don't have a big problem with the action taken by the warden.

Nosler BT or Hornady SST
rossislider replied to swaro06's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I prefer Bergers, but of the two you mentioned, I like the Hornady bullets. -
Pretty awesome bull, especially for a closing minutes of the hunt bull! I'd like to hear some more about the DB who chased away the bull you were stalking. I have no tolerance for people like that.

I got to hear the whole story of the hunt this past weekend. Sounded like a great and interesting experience. Congratulations on a great buck! -

195 grain berger 7mm mag
rossislider replied to 5guyshunting's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
195gr out of a 7mm mag sounds like a lot to me. I might try those out of a 7mm RUM. I shoot the 168s out of my 7mm mag (Tikka t3) at 2950 fps with great results. I shot my big bodied muley buck last week with this combination at 551 yards. The exit wound on the back side was massive, at least 5" in diameter. I'll post a picture to give you an example. As you can see, no need for a heavier bullet. -
Lock tight for scope mounts?

Blue. I highly recommend against using red!!! -
AZGFD Special Meeting
rossislider replied to Flatlander's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
Regarding Mr. Wagner, I'm sad to admit that not that long ago I was on the lynching mob. However, over the past six months I have had two different encounters with him, both very positive experiences, which has lead me believe I may have unfairly judged him without knowing all the facts. Maybe he is guilty and got away with something, or maybe there is more to it than we all realize. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I'm just suggesting that maybe we don't know everything that happened. -
After shooting my buck we noticed upon running our hands over his hide that he was covered from head to hoof in tiny pea sized bumps. As we removed the hide we found he was covered just under the top hide layer in these tiny yellow doughy like lumps. None of this was in the meat. None of us, nor the taxidermist, have ever seen anything like it? Anyone here recognize this?

Strange Fatty Lumps under Deer Hide???
rossislider replied to rossislider's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
I'd agree. Both of our bucks had a ton of fat. -
Strange Fatty Lumps under Deer Hide???
rossislider replied to rossislider's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
I have not. My taxidermist is concerned it might affect the cape during tanning. I sure hope not. -
We bought a 2013 4x4 ecoboost this past spring. We love it! We pulled a 10,000 pound toy hauler from the valley up to the Mogollon Rim this past summer with no problems. The only problem is my wife loves is so much I hardly get to drive it.

Really glad and lucky I had chains on my late bull hunt several years ago.
