Not unreasonable at all. -
That is correct, it unfortunately ended yesterday.

What a Coues hunt and year!!! Check it out

Pretty great year! Congratulations. -
Scouting for those late bull hunts prior to all the achery, muzzleloader, deers hunts, etc. is next to worthless. That is unless your goal is just to get into the woods and have a great time seeing animals. Than it is a great idea. So many variables can throw things off for the late bull hunts. For example, my buddy and I had the late bull hunt in unit 1 several years ago. Over the final couple of days leading up to opening morning we had scouted and patterned several great bulls. Thanksgiving day, the day before the hunt opened, they were right where we expected, and we even bedded them. That night we had a huge snow storm dropping over 24" of snow in spots. The next morning was a white foggy mess. The bulls we had put to bed were gone and we never saw them again. That change happened in under a 12 hour period and is one reason why I quit putting in for late bull hunts (hiking in the pitch black at 4:00 AM through 24" of fresh snow SUCKS). Sorry, probably not what you want to hear. There are still bulls there somewhere. Good luck to you. I'm sure you will figure it out.

Raffles at Arizona Elk Society - Canyon Coolers Raffles NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think each raffle should be in a new thread of its own. It would probably get more attention that way. -
Thanks everyone, the problem has been solved. For now I am looking for some advice and may eventually need an electrician. The other night my wife was using the steam vac and had the TV on when something blew. When I got home from I checked the breaker box, nothing was off, but I went ahead and flipped all possible suspects anyway. No improvement. I then searched the house for all GFCI reset switches and reset all of those. Still no improvement. I then proceeded to replace the breaker switch that I believe is the culprit in the breaker box. Still nothing. It appears that some of the outlets in that particular room still work, while a few outlets and one ceiling fan do not. Any suggestions? I've been racking my brain for two days and can't come up with anything.

Great buck! Sounds like a great hunt.

In Need of Home Electrical Advice and Help
rossislider replied to rossislider's topic in The Campfire
Thank you for all the help everyone. The problem is now fixed. It was an outlet that had gone bad. I wasn't sure of the outlet order progression in the room so started with the outlet that the steam vac had been plugged into. I pulled it out and tested it for an incoming current, nothing. I moved onto the outlet that the TV had been plugged into. Based on the room setup this was likely either the outlet in line right before or after the first one I tested. I took it out of the wall and still no incoming current. The next outlet in progression still had a current in both receptacles. I detached all the wires from the outlet, connected and capped the like colored in and out wires, and flipped the breaker back on. BINGO! All receptacles were now working. So I swapped that outlet out with a new one and everything is now functioning. Thanks again for the suggestions. -

I'm pretty sure I know which direction the power is running. Based on what you said I think I can narrow my problem down to two possible outlets. Is it safe to assume the wire would be fried at the outlet? -

I only have a couple of unit 27 hunting trips under my belt but am happy to share what little I know. It is a rough remote unit with some pretty nasty canyons. This is a big plus for you if get a few miles in as you suggests. 90% of the other hunters probably won't be willing to do that.

+1 Not many guys would invite a stranger (me) over while trying to get ready to leave town the following day for his own hunt to give me some lessons for my boys hunt that weekend.

Hey Ammon, do you have plans to do any seminars this winter/spring. I've practiced with the box call I got from you, but I'm still pretty terrible.

I haven't ever hunted turkey for myself (I have assisted with my sons hunt). My wife and I put in together for unit 1 tags now that she has caught the hunting bug. Fingers crossed!

Two big old mature bucks taken this weekend provided me with a LONG day of processing meat today. Started at 6:00 AM and (with a short break to unpack ans mow the lawn) just finished cleaning up the mess before the Cardinals game started. Got: -Backstrap steaks -40 lbs of burger -40 lbs of breakfast sauasage -40 lbs of Italian sausage -10 lbs of jerky These were our first mule deer. Being a couple of old bucks, I wondered about the taste. They are both fantastic!

You are a better man than I. I would have lost my cool with the other hunter that interfered, and then would have put him on blast for all to know about.

I used the recipe at the link below with a couple of tweaks. It turned out really good! http://allrecipes.com/recipe/16359/breakfast-sausage/ For the meat I used 75% ground game meat to 25% ground pork butt. It makes the sausage a bit leaner than most are used to, but I prefer it that way. Traditional sausages are usually 50%+ fat.

Been hearing several regularly the past few weeks at night east of Ironwood and Ocotillo in Queen Creek.

I try to keep it as simple as possible and minimize the number of powders I need. At one time or another I think I've tried every powder you mentioned. I've been fortunate to find very successful loads for all of my medium to large rifles with H4350 (.243, 7-08, 30-06), and Retumbo for my magnum rifles (7mm Rem Mag, 300 RUM). I also liked IMR 4350, but found H4350 to be less temperature sensative.
