We have a stray cat in our neighborhood that until recently has been nothing more than a mild nuisance. Recently it has started to frequent our front porch furniture during the night leaving it covered in fur, and much worse, urine. We can't open the front door without getting smacking in the face with the smell. This thing needs to go!!! I'm not interested in killing the cat, so no pellet guns, antifreeze, etc. Any suggestions? I'd like to try a cage trap, but really don't want to buy one for one stupid cat. Anyone in the Queen Creek area have one they would consider loaning out or renting for small fee? Thanks

My wife, kids, and I are huge jerky junkies. So any time we are lucky enough to draw tags and harvest, we lots of jerky at our house. Many of you were very kind and expressed how much you liked my last jerky recipe for my “Sweet Mesquite Jerky”, so I thought I’d share my latest creation for green chili jerky. It turned out excellent. Maybe a little hot for the kids and wife, but that means more for me! Be advised, depending on the green chilies you chose to use, this one can pack some heat. I’m all about keeping my jerky recipes simple and prefer to use as few ingredients as possible, so I love to make use of pre-made rubs and seasonings that can be bought at the big warehouse club stores. This particular recipe only uses 4 ingredients: 1 pound Lean Ground Meat (I used antelope) 6-8 oz of very finely diced Fire Roasted Green Chilies 2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire 1.5 Tablespoons of McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning 1. Combine the Worcestershire sauce and McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning in a bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes so the salt and seasonings can begin to dissolve/hydrate. 2. If green chilies are in season than I would definitely recommend going with fresh fire roasted green chilies. I wasn’t able to find any good fresh ones locally, so opted for a 7 oz can from Walmart. They were already chopped, but were still in too big of chunks for me so I threw them in the food processor for just a couple of seconds, not to puree them, just to finely dice them. Combine with the seasoning/Worcestershire mix. 3. Thoroughly combine the mix with your meat. 4. Load the mix up into your jerky gun and squirt it out onto your tray. 5. In my Nesco dehydrator it generally takes about 5-6 hours at the 160 degree setting to dehydrate. The fuller the dehydrator, the longer takes. My dehydrator will hold about 5 pounds of meat, but this adds an hour or 2 of drying time versus doing 1 pound.

Kuiu Icon Pro 7200 Pack...who has it? Question for you.
rossislider replied to cwnova's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I just got one and can check it tonight. There are 4 straps inside of the main compartment that can be used on other parts of the pack. -
I ordered a back pack a couple of weeks ago and had it in about 5 days. But they probably didn't have nearly as many orders to fill. In the next few days you should get a tracking code with the exact date.

I'm about 200 yards into Pinal county, so no sheriff Joe. I'm not interested in hurting the cat, but I have no problems with relocating it to BFE. I've talked to most of the neighbors, no one has any idea where it came from and they all seem to hate the thing as much as I do.

Gotcha, I think that is what I am borrowing. Thanks

If I can't get it with the trap I'll let you know.

What kind of trap is a heart trap?
-
Thanks everyone. olmos1010 lives right by where I drive to and from work every day, so I'm going to give his trap a try. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into that.

Just sent your info to a coworker. She asked me today if I could shoot a fresh one for her. If only it were that simple.

isnt that kinda like shooting texas whitetail, like anybody can do it? No idea, but the idea of going to New Zealand and hunting an animal like this seems awesome!

Kodiak brown bear and giant New Zealand red stag.

To me this suggest that all the credit card charging is now done outside of the small few who will get the spots of those AZGFD can't reach.
