You are partially correct, and if you do a little more research, you will see the 60 vote scenario is the road the current legislation is going.

While we should all be concerned, there is some missing info here. First, this bill isn't an assault weapons ban, it is an expansion of background checks, largely focused on private sales. Second, to pass, they need 60 votes in the Senate to pass it. At this time they are well short of 60 in the 50/50 split senate. In order to bring the number down from 60 to a simple majority, they would need to get rid of the filibuster, which at this time is what we should be more concerned about. As long as the filibuster rules are in place, it is going to be really tough to pass their firearms reform.

It really isn't that sensitive. The Timney on my 300 RUM is set to 1.5. It takes more than you would think to set it off. I tested it quite a bit on range day by knocking it around a bit with a round chambered. It doesn't go off on accident.

Nothing goes in the chamber until something is in the scope!

Honestly, when I have a loading or shooting question, Lance is usually the first person I ask or go to. The idea that he has his set so much higher than mine has me questioning my whole world! I know I personally have shot much more consistent at the very low weights, but now I'm wondering if I should play around with some of the higher weights just to test them out a bit more.

Wow, I have all of mine between 1.5-2.5 oz. I don't touch the trigger until I mean it.

Likewise, I have plenty of VLDs and ELD-Xs I would be happy to trade. But, understandably, everyone wants to hang on to what they have. I have plenty of guys willing to but my VLDs and ELD-Xs. But like everyone else, I can't part with them until I have something to replace them with.

Unless you called Game and Fish and confirmed, I'd bet the application is fine. Portals always get messed up around the draw. But for the most part the draw isn't affected.

Not to take away from any other trust source or individual, but I used NFA lawyers just last week. It was about as easy as could be. I had one question so called the number on the application page and immediately spoke with their paralegal. Whole process took about 10 minutes, tops. All trusts are processed by them at the end of the day the following business day. So expect to get everything via email around 2-4 PM the next business day after submitting. I used them after being referred/recommended by Healy's. It cost $99. I then went and submitted/paid for everything quick and easy using the Silencer Shop kiosk at Healy's. I likely won't get my Omega 300 for around a year. But from my end, the process was substantially easier than I had expected. The trust did include easy to follow instructions and addendums should I need to make future changes. One tip if you do use a kiosk for the fingerprints, don't put hand sanitizer on just beforehand. It makes it so the machine can't pick up your prints. That was the most challenging part. 🤣
