Saw only does and 1 unicorn coues (one horned spike) on my hunt in NM last week in unit 24. This unit is a tough hunt for coues. Very little areas for glassing. Mostly still hunting, sitting water & natural salt licks and watching small travel routes. Still had a great time huntin with my Dad for a week

Good story and lessons well learned

All very good advise. I started on my mule deer skull last week and boiled it in plain water. I boiled it to long and some of the bone around the nose is getting loose. Right now the skull has been on the roof, I was in NM for a week huntin. Think I will try simmering it in borax for shorter periods till it is clean.
