I don't know, thats a tough one to judge from these pics but I'm going to say 108-112. He looks like a young buck. Maybe you should pass on him this year, he has a ton of potential. Can you imagine what he will look like in a year or two

Dude it was a pic of a deer head on a work bench that was RUMORED to score 136. It wasn't posted by the hunter and as we all know alot of animals every year are rumored to score alot higher than they really are. No one said it wasn't a monster or a toad. Chef, You are right on the money

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I'm brand new to the website and for someone to come to fresh into it and read all the crap that has been said about Mace's buck is pretty ridiculous. He's my brother and I think I would have been the first one to talk crap about his buck if it weren'f for real. But it's real. I consider myself a pretty dang good hunter but my hat's off to him for being an even better one than me or anyone else I know. If guys have something bad to say about someone, keep your mouth shut and vent off the website. It does give us hunters a bad rap. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've gone back and reread every post on this buck and to be honest I think only one person really bad mouthed Maces' buck by saying it was fake and he hasn't been back. Now some people, including myself, doubted the score at first based on the first photo posted and some people said the buck looked different in some way. Well yes it does look different cause probably 90% of us have never seen a coues deer any were near the size of this remarkable deer. So I have to dissagree that there has been a bunch of bashing of Mace and his buck. Hopefully Mace gets his buck score for B&C so the buck can be reconized as the true MONSTER that he is. Congrats again Mace

az4life, I agree 100% with your post. For someone to say something looks different about a buck or that based on a certain photo they may not totally agree with the score aint that big a deal. Now on the other hand when someone comes outta the wood work and with out any evidence to back their claim says something is fake, poached or anything negative about someone they need to get a life. We do not need that type on negativety on this great site.

I killed a coues in Sonora that had antlers much lighter in color than those on this buck so you can't make any judgement by the color of the antlers alone.

I agree, something looks different about this buck. It's probably cause he's so stinking HUGE, HUGE BODY, HEAD AND THEM HUGE BONES ON TOP

Seems like alot of money to me for an experimental hunt. I did an experimental type hunt in Sonora back in Jan. 02 and paid $1600 with no trophy fee. Turned out to be an awesome hunt but had it not the $1600 wouldn't have been that hard to swallow. Just my 2 cents

These field photos make it much easier to see truly how BIG this buck really is. Those pics of the head on a work bench sure don't do him any justice. Mason, sorry you took it personal that some of use didn't think he was 134 by looking at the first pic of your buck. Didn't mean to disrespect you or the deer, just going by the pic provided at that time. Congrats on taking a true trophy of a lifetime.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Though with this short of a notice I don't think it is possible to get the paper work done to bring your own rifle.
