Scott, Thanks for the great story and awesome pics. It was fun to go along with you on this hunt PS if that country was wearing you out I can only imagine what it would do to us mere mortal men.
-
This buck will make P&Y for sure- as a non-typical

CRB, You make a good point but when a breed of dog is raised, over generations, to fight it's going to be in most of there blood lines. Unfortunately you're only going to hear about the bad dogs and there are agood amount of them. And when you hear about them it is usually some poor little kid getting mauled -
Great bucks, congrats to the hunters. A very successful Oct. hunt. Looks like those 2 big bucks got some good character also, I love drops and sticker points
-
That's ok Josh, your pic is much better

I'm fairly new to this site and one thing I've been wondering, why do you all refer to mule deer as carp, (bottom feeding garbage fish to most people)? Is it because you all have 180" mulies on your walls? not likely Is it because every mature muley stops and looks back over his shoulder? not the big ones. Is it because they are big dumb deer? I've seen some small dumb deer. I was in a hunting camp in Sonora a few years back with a mix of coues hunters and mule deer hunters. At the end of the hunt everyone was looking over the big bucks that were taken and the consensus was everyone would have taken the 225" muley over my 110" coues if given the chance. So why? I'm just wondering, not trying to stir things up on a coues site, just wondering if it is slang or disrespect of a great big game animal?

CRB, That's a dandy buck. When you see that much bone I can see where a guy could make a mistake.

From what I have seen the past week or so, the desert mule deer are rutting really good. I have seen some good bucks running around in the middle of the day, tongues dragging in the dirt, looking for love. Kinda like some of you guys on Saturday nights. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's good to know. Hopefully my buds are going to be hitting it just right. For the mulies that is

You guys are killin me

Heck of a nice mulie. He's got some great mass. Love those long g-3s & 4s. Congrats to your hunter. Sounds like some good strategy. Was he ruttin? I have some friends heading down for the archery hunt.
