Happy Birthday Hope you have a great day and God bless.

Howdy tkknc, My pack of choice is the Eberlestock Just One. It's a great pack with lots of space for your gear, spotting scope, tripod, hydration system etc. Then after you wack your buck the center compartment of the pack opens up and becomes a great place to haul out your meat. Oh and I forgot it has a rifle scabbard so you can go hands free.

Cool pics Some of those deer look a little skinny. Hope you all get some rain soon.

Well I picked her up on Tues. I'll try to get a pic up asap.

We always try to help the client get everything out of a hunt, not just the killing part, but the whole experience. I'll have them help me glass, teach them some tricks, hike them in a little farther so they feel like they hunted hard and in the end they are leaving with more than just the rack. I think some of those Auction tag holders never experienced any of that and most don't even care to. I even try to have clients come out a day or two early to scout with me and to hike around without the pressure of a valid tag in their pocket, I feel they have a chance then to soak it all in, making the experience that much richer. Running an outfitting business the way we do, will probably never make me much money, BUT, I will feel better about what I do! Jim, I like the way you think. I wish all outfitters thought like you. You are already a rich man, just in a different way

Am I losing it or did we lose a bunch of posts, like Ernestos half a fox, COOSEFANS pic of his wife and her bull elk, etc. What's up?
-
On another note, I have seen where wealthy "Hunters" have bought some of these tags and payed an outfitter to scout for months. When the outfitter has the animal patterned on it's summer or wintering grounds he makes the call to the "Hunter" who flys in the night before and goes out and "shoots" the animal the next morning. What kinda crap is that! That in no way is HUNTING!

I personally don't like em. I would be more than willing to pay a little extra on my tag and license fees to make up for the money those "special tags" generate. Or even do them all on a raffle basis so that everyone, not just the wealthy, can have a chance at them.

I shoot a custom built 7stw on a Rem. 700 action. It's very fast and flat shooting. It's also fairly heavy but I just put it in the back scabbard on my Eberlestock back pack. You will also want to shoot a well constructed bullet. I've been very happy with the rifle and the cal.
