I recently won a new Outdoorsmans pack and am thinking about replacing it with a KUIU. I'm kind of a sawed off s.o.b and the Outdoorsmans seems kind of bulky for my build. I like all the pockets on the Outdoorsmans and the stability of the frame as well as the material that it's made out of. The KUIU 6000 is a slimmer pack that might fit on a pack horse better and seems that it might be easier to move through brush with. Not quite sold on the material though looks like to would tear easy in the wait a minute bushes that are common in Coues country. Any input would be helpful. Thanks

Does it compensate for angle? What range does it give a reading out to? How does it work for short range (archery)?

Coyote, legs are too long to be a fox.

Arizona Bowhunters Association Banquet March 1

Does anyone know what will be auctioned off.......other than the commissioners bear, buffalo and javelina tags? -
I hunted 33 Friday and Saturday off the Mt. Lemon highway. Only pig I seen was hanging in a tree. Hunted lower on Friday and yes it was crowed by road hunters. Went up high and hiked away from roads on Saturday. Saw lots of Coues up higher and some pig sign close to water but no pigs. Seen lots of deer and some good ones at that. Now I know why 33 has leftover tags. Congrats to those who found them! And good luck to those who are still at it!

I haven't had a chance to get out in about a week and a half. Just wondering if someone can give a rut activity update? Thx

What's the craziest thing you have done while out hunting?
AZ_SAWBUCK posted a topic in The Campfire
While out archery pig hunting yesterday my partner and I came across a pig cave in a wash. This cave had lots of fresh track and hair all around the entrance and as far as you could see in. The cave was pretty open about 10 feet in then split and had two dark holes that you couldn't see. He takes his pack off grabs his light and starts crawling in.............I'm thinking your plum NUTS! No gun, No knife.............. just a flashlight. Turns out there were not any pigs in at that time, but if there were I'm thinking he would have had his face bit off. What's The craziest thing you have done or seen someone do while out in the field? Feed a bear? Rope a Mt.Lion? Tell the wife you aren't coming home for two more days? Think this will be good........... -

I got another one............................ I wasn't there but my cousin (by marriage) is a lion hunter and had one of his good dogs being mauled by a MT. Lion. When he got to the scene the lion had his dog pinned in-between some rocks. Rather than shoot lion directly for a quick kill, he walked up to the fight and shot the lion in the side of the head so he wouldn't kill his dog as well. I'm talking like a foot from the side of the lions head...........CRAZY! This is the same guy who climbs trees with lions in them to jump lions out to make the dogs track more. Thought you were nuts? -

Seriously? Suffocating a buck? We owe these deer a lot more respect than that! And you should pack out your trash any how.... its not a new rule. -

+1 on the water filter systems and the dehydrated meals. Don't skimp on first aid items (Tylenol, superglue, mole skin, bandages etc......). A small travel pillow and a lightweight pad are nice comforts to have. Other that that you don't need much more than is already in a standard daypack.

Sweet hunt!

Just picked up a .22-250 Ruger American. Wondering what would be a good grain of bullet to try out? Bought it Mainly for predator and Javelina hunting. Also what distances are y'all shooting these rifles out to? Thanks JS
