I like what Joe Hunter said. How about also starting a list for which "Good" Legislators pledge to Oppose this. We could all contact our representatives and ask them how they plan to vote. If they dont answer we post them as unresponsive, until they do. I think when we make it public, they will know we mean it. Kinda like how the NRA scores em. That way folks would know how to vote next election, and we dont forget. If HB2072 hits the floor we record and post who supported or opposed it here too.

Where do we go from here?

That reply on HB2072 looks like it was from James Wieres not Jerry Wieres - You know kinda like the difference between AZSFW & AZSFWC! Yes there are 2 of them! (brothers) in the legislature. What was with all those bills the NRA dumped without talking to anyone? Do these guys at the legislature just blindly do whatever the NRA wants? Thats fine on 2nd amendment issues, but these specifically addressed hunting.

    Weiers memo

Does anyone know how many members of the commissioner appointment board are members of: AZSFW AZSFWC ADA Is it 3 or more? Thanks

    Weiers memo

I watched the commission meeting on the internet yesterday. Mr Stinson spoke on behalf of AZSFWC at the commission meeting. He wanted them to keep the agreement in place that the commission uses to give AZSFWC money under. So I guess some of the commissioners that his "commissioner appointment board" gave the nod too now understand how they are supposed to vote.... How do you pick commissioners and then ask them for money for your club?? AZSFWC's current president did not seem to know that Suzzane Gilstrap was their "Executive Director" So I guess "diversity" is alive and well! Mansell, Freeman and 3 former commissioners all spoke about terminating the agreement. Gilstrap stood up and thanked them for the "vote of confidence" It was a weird meeting that I did not completely understand.

Yup, I think it was dropped last Monday (after the commissions last meeting).

    anyone see this ?

I think Patterson tries it every year. It is kind of a running joke. I saw that the commission voted it down 5-0 (for what that's worth). Does this one mean I can hunt with an Uzi? REFERENCE TITLE: hunting; firearm magazine capacity State of Arizona House of Representatives Fiftieth Legislature Second Regular Session 2012 HB 2640 Introduced by Representatives Weiers JP, Burges, Gowan, Stevens: Crandell, Montenegro AN ACT Amending section 17-231, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to hunting firearms. HB 2072 Sale of big game tags

I read Weiers statement today about 2072. It is worse than I thought, He is basically saying that the Bill was great and would have done great things (for SFW) But because he values our unity so much he is going to pull it. Really Jerry? Can you spell ARROGANT POLITICIAN! Since when do you and Gilstrap know more about what is good for hunting than us, the dept and the commission? I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but after reading that it is obvious he is clueless and needs to choose his friends better. We need a change at the legislature.

Chris Denham is listed as a board member and has been a guide, check out this link: Yellow Horn Outfitters Guide Chris Denham Pete Cimallaro was a key partner in starting this orginazation and has been a guide, check out this link: Yellow Horn Outfitters Guide Pete Cinallaro Trent Swanson is listed as a board member and has been a guide, check out this link; Trent swanson bio I read the 990's that BPJ posted, thanks for that. So A rich guy (Allan) is the head of AZSFW that brought in $71,454 in 2009 Then they paid $61,173 to Suzanne - I think thats about 85% of the income to ONE person. And then Chris says that the department cant handle money for wildlife management REALLY ?? By all means lets give them millions.... Nick, If you were representing Yuma I can understand why susan might waive the $1,000 fee so she can stand at the legislature and say she represents that entire club. Who's vote can I by for $1000? any takers?? (other than weiers) Then the other club shows Pete at the helm. and susans hubby picks commissioners sure were represented well in this state. Frankly I trust gfd more than these folks. Out huntin for the weekend, good luck!
