Just another statement from dumb uneducated " white mountain boys". Great post Bullwinkle. I worked all summer fixing roads and pipeline on the shultz fire area. I can tell you elk dont care about aspens when they have as much greens as they had because of that fire. Elk are grazers, not browsers like deer. The new aspens are about 3-6' tall and elk wont touch them. Not an expert, but I would bet unit one could hold more elk than in the past because of that fire. JMO

Sorry to hear that. The valley has become one of the worst for crimes like this. Glad I left when I did. That car could well be in a shop around with a new paint job. They cant get it accross the border. To suspicious. Hope it turns up along with the other valuables.

Got to agree, even unit 9 doesnt produce the big bulls it used to. The problem is there are no other states that have a real chance at drawing in your lifetime. Just a few years ago 6a and 4b ect you still had a good shot at shooting a very good bull. Those units are bottom of the barrel along with many more. Yep, I get it, we need to get more hunters in the field. IMO the kids that dont hunt now,probably wont hunt later. Cell phones and video games have taken the place of the love for the outdoors. You guys live in the valley, what do you see. I see a bunch of little whimpy crybaby kids that need instant gratifacation. They get it through technology. Hunting just not cool anymore to this new breed of youth. Hip HOP and the street style are what matters. Kids cant even tye there own shoes anymore. Anyway, just my opinion of whats wrong. just look around you.We have lost the youth....

Really? This is Arizona, there is a road down every ridge and canyon in the state. Funny you think everyone is a road hunter. For me its about a quality experience and quality animals. Hunting cost to much in gas and other expenses to be a glorified camping trip. I dont care how far you think you are from a road, you will have company at some point with tag numbers this high. BTW, there are no places in this state that no one knows about. One more thing to point out is killing a big bull in September miles from a road might not be the best thing to do. If you like eating elk anyway.

It seems in a few years, units like 6a and 22 ect. will be like most units in Colorado. Lots of rag horn bulls running around, with very few big bulls. 6a used to be a good archery hunt a few years ago. I dont think I would want to hunt it now with that many people running around. Only positive I can see is maybe the mule deer herds in these areas will start to come back with the elk being killed off. Who knows....

I am leaning to vote no. I am affraid the state would start selling off tracts of land. Tough one for sure. I also agree that more people should be concerned about this bill. As I said Iam leaning no, but could be swayed with more info. Just want to do the best thing for OUR land.

Well, the Forest Service considers it abandoned property if it is left for more than 72 hours, without permission. Maybe someone thought it was abandoned?... Just saying.... Give me a break.....
