I just saw an internet poll on fox 10 news that asked if people thought we should have tighter gun laws. 87% said no 13% said yes.

Thats all I ever do. Just spray down with scent away every couple hours. I have been as close as eight yards from elk for several minutes at a time and never got winded.

I agree desertbull, and 6a should be one of those units. There are not a lot of deer as compared to the southern units, but 6a holds some big whitetail bucks. It should be managed for quality.

They are recomending 900 buck tags for 12a west, and 800 doe tags! Did the deer population explode on the kaibab? This just proves that game and fish are not about quality anymore, only about $$$$$. I am actually glad that I did not draw archery elk now. I cant emagine that many people being in the woods at once. That doesnt sound like much of a quality hunt either.

I have to agree with you about the g&f not telling the true story about the total amount of apps. I would be willing to bet, that they where down by close to 40% because of the price increase. Just to many people drawing this year( and I wish the best for all the people that drew this year) just seems to good to be true

Well, still no hits, so I guess I did not draw. Oh well I will make do with archery deer.Just hope that is not a draw soon

Anyone know of a meat processor that does Javelina? If so, what are the best cuts to have made?

I have wanted to try to draw a tag in the southern units, but I am very uneasy about the illegals, and the coyotes. People are far scarier to me than animals, not that I would feel great about hunting in a lion infested area. Its rediculous that this topic even has to be brought up, and I am afraid its not going to change anytime soon.

The walmart here in Queen Creek has nothing as far as archery equipment, and I mean nothing.

Honestly I am a little nervous about the season starting a week later. Last years opener, the bulls were going crazy. I just hope that they are not wore down to bad this year. Should be fine but I have never seen an opener this late.

Last year I had a cow tag, and all I saw wre big bulls. Until day five when I shot my cow. Get in front if the herd as they feed and move to bedding areas. Keep calling to a minimum. I lucked out and drew a bull tag this year, and am nervous about the season starting later. last year was awesome! Dont give up just because you dont hear bulls bugling. Stay out as much as possible, and still hunt during the afternoons you will see elk up and about. Good luck!

Again, wait 5-6 years for a chance to draw a tag? Just bacause you wait that amount of time is not going to guarantee you a tag the next year. You could still wait 10 or more years to draw. I would rather have everybody throw thier name in a hat, and let them draw names as desertbull said. I dont want to wait to apply for elk or any thing else, and I doubt the majority of hunters do either.

I think it should be left alone exept for the online apps. Go back to paper, and no preference points! I dont want to wait three years for just a chance to get drawn for elk again. I am guessing all these ideas came from people who didnt draw this year. Would you feel the same had you drawn a tag? No sir, I dont like it.

I have never used them, but from what I have heard they tend to slow down your arrow down range. That being said, they are also very accurate. I shoot blazer vanes, and love them. They stablize any broadhead that I have tried.

Hunterdude, I had a cow tag up there last year, and saw bulls everyday! One monster 7x6 walked 10 yards from me. Your in for a fun hunt!
