Obama OH NO!!!!!!!

Its a sad day for sure. Think about it. A man that wont put his right hand over his chest or say the pledge of allegiance is our new president! It makes my stomach hurt thinking about it. -
New meat processers in Payson

I took my deer to Millers this year, and they did a great job on it! Fast turn around time as well. -
How is the draw cycle on the pse? One reason I like mathews is because of the smooth draw cycle.
-
I am waiting for mathews 09 bows to come out. It will be a tough choice between pse and mathews. Mathews has never let me down, but the 09 pse lineup sounds like it is gonna be nice.

Thats where I was. Crazy how many people hunt that spot. Good job on the whitewings, I saw maybe 20 or so but they were on the west side of the state trust with everyone else.

I hunted off Ironwood in queen creek and it was a war zone. At least a thousand rounds shot by the time I left at 9:30am. I could not believe how many people were there. I did get my limit with one whitewing. Missed a few eurasian doves. Going to take my son out this evening without the huge crowd. And game and fish says we are loosing hunters. Not in queen creek, it was down right scarr y!

I will be going out here around Queen creek. Hope there are still some whitewings left after this weekend. I heard a pacific storm is on the way. If its a cooler than normal rain they will head for old Mexico. Good luck all! -
Talk about depressing, not being able to go opening weekend. Glad its not me! Leaving for the kaibab wednesday night!

Say I am 20' up in a tree, and a deer passes at 30 yards. Do I need to hold low in order to hit him or do I hold right on? Is there a way to fighure true horizontal distance without buying a new rangfinder?

Thanks for all the tips. I will try shooting for the exit hole on my target and see what happens. I dont want to sight in from the stand because I will be doing alot of still hunting during the middle of the day. Thanks again!

This will be my first year using a treestand. Was wondering what you all think is the minimun height to set it at. I have always still hunted or built ground blinds but want to give treestands a try for my 12a archery hunt. Thanks for any advice and tips.
-
I was up there last year as well. I saw up to three different treestands on one tank, and every tank had at least one! I had seven days off, but left after three. Just to many people. Opening night there was a steady stream of vehicles coming in all night long. Still to many tags in my opinion but should be better than last year. Thanks for the treestand tips, now just to find an unoccupied water hole.

Because the odds are 99.9% that they were uda's.

A friend of mine found one at the mouth of woods canyon near the village of oak creek several years ago. Just so happened that as he was leaving, the farmers were coming in driving a jeep. My friend tried to duck and hide but they saw him, and the bullets began to fly. He was lucky and was not hurt but had the crap scared out of him needless to say! Not sure if they where ever caught

I was nieghbors with Johns grandmother and went to school with him for years. We lived on lower red rock loop road. Crazy how Sedona changed for the worse. Was a great place to grow up.

Roughcut, how are you related to Glen Morrison? In the early 90's my dad and grandpa would clean out stock tanks like grey tank, in 6b. Glen would give us half a range fed beef for helping keep them cleaned out. Ask about A.C. Newton when you see him again.

I grew up in Sedona before it became a vortex . My family hunted deer in unit 9 every year for two weeks in the 70's and 80's. I remember when an elk sighting in 9 was very rare. I shot my first buck up there, a 28" cactus buck. My dad shot more deer up there than you could emagine. Three of those bucks would make strip hunters drool. I shot my first elk in 6a when I was 16. Went about 320. First whitetail was in 22 with a bow, a little two point. Shot four gobblers in four trips in 13a Hunting with my uncle Russ. My grampa took me quail hunting and fishing since I can remember. Great times

I went to school with Daniel from kindergarden through at least sixth grade. We used to hang out alot. Been a long time since I have seen either Gail or Daniel. By the way my name is Vance Newton. You possibly know some of my family as most live in the Verde Valley or Sedona. We might know each other because I know a ton of people up there! What a great place to grow up. Let me know if my name or last name ring a bell! Vance Newton
