Golden quail
coues krazy replied to SpotNStalk's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Looks to me like it could be a scrambled quail..... Half scaled quail and half gambles. -
We will take 150.00 OBO. We just want him to go to his new home before he grows up. We have been working on training him and he does well. He will make a good pet for his new family.

Honestly, I dont see anything wrong with what was said. Seems they are just trying to defend themselves.I cant blame them for not taking animals in the condition of some that were pictured. Yuck!

seeking help on AZ-22N late hunt for bull elk
coues krazy replied to desertyankee's topic in Elk Hunting
Check some of the big canyons at the base of the rim. Anywhere from the fish hatchery to washinton park. Lots of canyon coming off the rim that hold bulls but you will work for them. -
Glad to see 240 beingworked on. That road was nasty.

Guess they do go to water when crippled.... Glad he got him.

Ya done good! nice bull.

Great bulls for sure. If you dont mind me asking, What size arrows and broadhead was your wife shooting? Great penatration for such a light settup!

No doubt the good lord played a part! Awesome bull.

Your theory sounds good to me, and I will let you know how things pan out during those days. This could be very interesing as far as learning about the elk rut. This opening weekend might teach us alot. Thanks for the insight.

I just looked at the new regs, and it appears we can hunt all day here in the desert zones. Wonder why they changed that? Only problem I see is the slobs that will double limit. One in the morning and one in the evening. Maybe they plan on stepping up enforcement.

I think people cow call to loud. Some of the calls on the market have to be blown to hard to make subtle realistic cow sounds. I can always tell if the call I am hearing is a real elk or not. If I can tell, I know the elk can.

I think it looks pretty good. Bucks in summer always seem thinner and more scraggly to me. The other two have the look of rutting bucks with the thicker necks. I would be happy with the mount.

dove regs
coues krazy replied to coues krazy's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Seriously dude, your handle says it all.I have no problem with afternoon dove hunting. Just wonder why they changed the rule after so many years. Good hunting....punk..haha -
Whatever bud. Happy hunting.

I suppose there will be a mass slaughter of 100" whitetail bucks from Hackberry canyon because Buglethemin decided to mention it here. Come on man, not every one gets to "live the dream" and be so close to great hunting. I think Hackberry canyon as well as the rest of 6a will somehow recover from the inevitable slaughter this post will cause. Sorry but there are no more "secret spots" In 6a or anywhere for that matter.

Seems someone could have gotten a license plate#. That could have caused a major pile up. Those idiots should be locked up for a long time. Just a little civil disobedience. Ya right....

What kind of string is on it? Winners choice?

If you could only get one week off to hunt archery elk would you hunt the first or second week. I hate the thought of not being in the woods opening day but the season opens early this year. Just wondering what you all would do.
-
I am going to try and get the whole season off, but if I cant I will go the first three days, then return the following friday for the rest of the season. I will be worthless at work anyway thinking of hunting the whole time. Only seven weeks to go!
