I work in the valley, and today I heard the first male gamble quail doing the mating call. Hoping for a good hatch this year. Need a few more rains soon.

Thats really cool to have both gambles and scalies in your yard.

I just looked at Utahs website and that unit didnt have leftover tags last year. Other units did though.

Im pretty sure all deer hunts in Utah are by draw only. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Aren't bluegills legal for bait? I know they used to be back when I was fishing for flatheads. They are much more durable than carp. Hook them near the tail about 1/4 up. You'll know when you are about to get bit because the gill will start trying to get away.

I think it means they dont have the data for that hunt. I could be wrong though.

I have seen mearns off the control road outside of Payson.

I am shooting 100 grns. by volume of bh209, with a barnes 250 grn expander bullet. Sighted in for 100 yards. Shot him at 130 and he dropped.

Just wanted to see if anyone hunted during the early hunt, and how it was. I have the muzzleloader tag next week.

Dont go to rhondas. We had a deer processed there two years ago and all the hamburger had bone in it. Every package. I actually broke my tooth eating a burrito. Had to throw it all out.

Saw one here in camp verde several months back. Others have seen them up here too

Shoot wat ever is best out of your gun. For me, it happens to be barnes all copper bullets. People on the rez contribute to more condor deaths by shooting rez dogs and domestic sheep and cattle than hunters using led ammo while deer hunting on the north rim.
