Just in case you are not already familar with it, I would like to suggest that you get a copy of "How to Hunt Coues Deer" book by Duwane Adams and Tony Mandile offered on this site. It has some very good advice as to where to hunt in each of the units, and it makes Unit 35B out to be the cream of the crop. The tendancy is for people not to take the advice seriously - don't make that mistake. I believe the information on location in this book is highly under-rated. Many of the pictures of large bucks in the book where taken in 35B. It may be worth a look. I know I have really enjoyed it, and I have glassed deer in the few locations that I've been able to check out so far that were mentioned in the book. Good Luck.

Congrats to all those that were drawn for a tag. Double wow to those that were drawn for multiple tags! I got skunked, but I've been preparing for archery deer hunting so that I can just buy a tag over the counter. I'd rather be hunting than wishing and waiting! Bring home the meat! 6.5man

Hi Guys, I just ordered by BowTech Allegiance today ( 60# 30" ), and I can't wait for it to come in! So...Now it is time to think about the accessories. I have been told that the Allegiance has a wider than usual riser requiring lots of windage adjustment to center the rests and sights. I am currently thinking of going with a QAD Ultra-Rest and a Spot-Hog Hog-It 5-Pin Sight w/ 3rd Axis and MicroAdjustments. What are you guys using? Any recommendations? How about stabalizers and quivers? Thanks for you input.

I'd be very surprised if you got a 475 gr arrow over 300 fps since the IBO rating is only 322-328 for a 350 gr arrow at 70# and a 30" draw. Anyways, my shopping is over! I ordered an Allegiance today! 60# and 30" draw. I love the way these things feel and shoot, and I haven't even been able to try one at my proper draw length yet! I can't wait til mine comes in! Editted P.S. I changed my mind and up the draw to 70# - more options.

I'm in the exact same position myself! I too have narrowed down my choices to the Bowtech Allegiance or the Mathews Switchback. I have shot both on the same day at different locations and was blown away by both of them. They are both great bows, and I honestly don't think I could go wrong with either of them. I personally like the hard wall on the draw and the grip of the Allegiance better than those of the Switchback. However, the Switchback is a very sweet shooting bow too. Then again, the Allegiance is faster and a tad less expensive. I'm currently leaning towards a 60# Bowtech Allegiance. I persoanlly just love the way it feels when I shoot it. Plus the added speed will make up for not pulling a 70# Matthews! Again, I would be proud to own either of these bows. You really just need to shoot both and go with what feels best. A little speed or smoothness isn't going to make or break one over the other. Good Luck, and please do let us know which one you choose. Troy

I would see how the 140 gr. Accubonds work in your 270 Win. Reloader 22 worked great for me. Excellent velocity and accuracy. You can also use this same load on Elk if necessary. Note Nosler 140 Accubonds have a BC of .496 and a SD of .261. You get fast expansion, deep penetration and predictiable weight retention -- you'll almost always get a clean pass-through however which makes for great blood trails and quick kills. Happy Hunting!
