Thanks for the responses and messages. I retracked him twice. Each hunt is a learning experience. Like I said, after he hit the ground twice I thought it was over. In hindsight it was obviously due to the damage to his shoulder not his vitals. Thanks again everyone and good luck on your hunts.

Called in a really nice bull Monday morning. Unfortunately, he heard me shuffle my feet as I turned to line up my shooting lane. I had 5BN tag. Was only able to hunt 4.5 days in the second week of the hunt. The bulls were never really on fire or going crazy all day, but they did bugle a bit in the mornings and evenings. I had more cows responding than bulls in some areas. I was hoping to have one or two crazy rut days, but it never happened for me personally. Still had an amazing hunt and am always grateful just to have a tag.

I saw a 6x6 bull May 30th in unit 9. No joke.

Keep an eye out online but pawn shops are usually a big outlet for these dudes. Sorry you have to deal with this crap.

What are the rules for the hunt? Ie- Do we have to check in at Seligman before going out even if we register early? When is check-in? Is it yotes only or is this for cats too? Sorry for all the questions. I checked the facebook group and event page but couldn't find any other info there.

I hike 5B, and I don't know why, but I'm always shocked at the number of quad and truck tracks I see offroad. Nothing more frustrating that working your tail off to get out off the road only to find others cheating... I always wonder how many they pick up before I get there.
