Yeah, I didn't want to call the guy out just yet. It would suck to get in trouble for something like this just because your ignorant.

Ironwood and Apache Trail http://www.ronpaultaxidermy.com/ Have had two elk and a javalina done by Ron. All three turned out great.

interested in the savage. oldest boy is looking for his first rifle. he wants a savage so this is perfect. pm'ing you now. -
Forgot to add, if you get one buy the gun bearer for it. That's probably the best $30 I've ever spent.

I've been running a G2 Pointman for a few years now. Great pack. I've yet to find it's breaking point, but it has found mine! Had 80lbs of elk in it a couple of weeks ago. The pack took it like a champ but it was not comfortable. It will do 60 lbs all day long comfortably though. I was entering into the weight range for needing a pack frame. I've actually been thinking of selling it and getting a Kifaru Duplex or Bikini frame setup. Still on the fence though. I really like this pack.

frys gave me 20lbs for free. bashas wanted a buck a pound. you wont find pork fat at the grocery stores. have to go to midwestern meats or other butcher shops for that, and they will charge dor it.

Both boys filled opening day. Youngest at 11am (1st pic), oldest at 5:30pm (2nd pic). 1st one we had to pack out 3 miles to the nearest rd, 2nd was 400 yards from a rd. Spent Sunday evening and all day Saturday cutting steaks and grinding burger. I'm beat! Last pic is bacon wrapped tenderloin... yum.

Bulls were screaming like crazy in Payson last night. Chase the bulls, shoot the cows! Good luck to all the kiddo's this weekend.

i stopped by kaibab's camp night before that video. there must have been 4 bulls screaming at each other and raking trees. was impressive to listen to. was that one of the bulls?
-
looks like tag soup for me this year. got into a couple of herds this morning. very little bugling. last night they were screaming at each other for a while though. no regrets, had a few opportunities to get it done but couldn't put it all together. its hunting, not shopping after all! kaibabhunter, thanks for the tips. enjoyed listening to the bulls around your camp. they put on quite a show.

Hunted from the 125 rd up to Marshall lake for the past 3 days. Not heard a single bugle or seen any elk. Last weekend it was crazy with bugles all night till 10am and getting into elk all day. Anyone else having better luck this weekend?
-
There were 12 cow and 1 bull in the middle of Mormon lake at 2pm this afternoon.
-
I'm surprised the Pine Grove area wasn't good for you, not far from where I was at.

I spent the weekend in 5BN, off the 125 rd. Got 2 hrs of sleep Friday night because the bulls were screaming at each other all night. We had 4 bulls surrounding our camp. They yelled at each other from 8pm when we pulled into camp till midnight. Were quite for a couple of hours then started up at 2am and continued till around 10am. It was awesome.

Bump for a nice rifle. AR market is saturated more than I've ever seen it. I know it's not a Colt but you can pickup brand new AR's for under 400 these days ( http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/rifle-kits/ptac-16-m4-5-56-nato-slick-side-1-9-classic-rifle-kit.html ).

i've had quite a few people suggest that we fish bartlett or pleasent and there is no doubt about those lakes giant flathead populations. but what about salt river lakes? rosie has huge flatheads and lots of them. so why wouldnt apache and canyon and saguaro have big flatties also?
-
Going flathead fishing this weekend. Haven't been in 15 years. We're rigged up right, heavy duty everything, but not sure where to go. We will be shore fishing. Canyon is a 30min drive and Rosie is 1.5 to 2 hours. Is it worth it to rosie? I know there big flatties there. canyon is the same river chain so im assuming there are flats there also. opinons and advice welcome
-
ended up going to canyon. 1 bite all night, turned into a 5 lb channel cat.
-
can you post info on the scope? 50 bmg's are known for turning scopes into tubes full of loose parts!
-
Where are you located? I have a friend who is interested.

I have an early archery cow tag in 5BN. Spent the weekend up there getting to know the unit as I've never hunted it before. Had a camera up there for the last 3 weeks so I was going to check on it also. Are there any cow elk in this unit (kidding)! I saw 48 bulls and 8 cow. Here are some cam pics. super green up there, and tons of rain. but the fishing sucked.
