I'm trying to get myself geared up to get out hunting and I don't have 1000+ $$$ to spend on optics. I'm looking at spending more like $200 for right now...Is there a bino you would recommend in my price range just to get me by until I can buy some high end glass? Thanks Shaun

Well I have the hunting fever bad and I wasnt able to put in for any hunts this year (Thank god for quail season coming up!)...anyways I was on a phone call today and got put on hold for about 30 min. I started scribbling on a piece of scratch paper and this is what came out...though maybe a few of you would enjoy... Shaun

Thanks for the kind words guys...I will keep on drawing them up!

I'm guessing they are in phoenix?...If they have a website that I can order from I'll be sure to check them out!

I pretty much have to go off of your guys recommendations because i dont have a good sporting goods store within 2-3 hours of me so I'll be ordering off the internet (I wont be able to look through them before buying). I do understand the importance of quality optics and i know i will eventually save the money and buy quality glass but i dont want to take my self out of the game by choosing to bypass the lower end optic to save for the nice binos... Reading reviews online and adding the input here on CWT.com so far I'm leaning towards the Vortex Diamondbacks...Thank you for the info guys Shaun

just remember that pounds = pain....those items that you think will be comfortable to have in camp will cause discomfort while you hike...

Well I just moved back to Arizona after a 6 year stent in the army...I didnt put in for any hunts this year but now that fall getting closer the fever is starting to kick in. I was thinking of buying a lion tag and at least getting out there. My question is am I wasting my time without a guide and dogs? I have heard that the best lion repelent is having a tag in your pocket. I live in kingman and have been told that Im surounded by some great lion realestate but that its flat imposible to get one without a guide. Any tips that you can give me would be great. Thanks Shaun

Dove Burritos/tacos in the crock pot... Start with a base of beef flavor "better that bullion", 2 cans of diced green chili's, about a half an onion (diced), a little fresh cilantro and how ever many dove breasts you need/want for a meal (season to your liking)...put it all in the crock pot on low before you head to work... When you get home strain the dove breasts leaving the chilis, onion and cilantro...Shred the dove with forks (much like pulled pork) and mix with your chili and onion. Serve on a flower tortilla with sour cream and salsa (or what ever fixins you prefer...can also substitute the flower tortillas for tostata shells or taco shells.)

Ralph and Eddie go duck hunting to test out Eddie's newly trained dog. They get to the duck pond at 0'dark thirty...Ralph jumps out of the truck and starts walking to the blind...."Ralph...we don't need to hunt from that freezing, wet blind any more...we're gunna sit here in the truck with the heater running and let the dog do the work" says Eddie...puzzled Ralph gets back in the truck...first light rolls around and Eddie sends the dog over to the pond...a minute later the dog returns and barks three times..."that means there's three ducks up there" says Eddie. The two guys walk down and sure enough there are three ducks...they shoot them, the dog retrieves them and they return to the truck....after a day of hunting and a limit of ducks Ralph says to Eddie "I have to have that dog ....ill give you $50,000 for him" Eddie reluctantly agrees and sells the dog Ralph takes the dog out by him self the next day...he Parks the truck and sends the dog to check the pond...a minute later the dog comes back and barks twice...Ralph walks over the hill, shoots two ducks, the dog retrieves them and they go back to the truck...a few min later he sends the dog back to the pond...the dog comes back and humps Ralph's leg then picks up a stick and skakes it...Ralph is confused so he sends the dog back....a min later it comes back, humps his leg shakes that stick again...Ralph feels that the dog has gone mad so he shakes it off his leg and shoots it A day or two later Ralph runs into Eddie at the store and tells Eddie of the dogs behavior...Eddie gets excited and asks "well what did you do?" Ralph says "I shot him"...Eddie looks at him and says "you have to be the dumbest SOB I've ever met....that dog was just telling you that there was more ducks on that pond than you can shake a F***ing. Stick at!"
