    Fixed blade broadhead vs. mechanical

Killed my bull last year with a 125 grn swahacker on a 29" easton axis at a distance most would not shoot ( won't post to keep the thread on track) and the bull ran maybe 50 yds and piled up. Quartering away shot. 8 days earlyer watched my partner drop his bull where it stood @67 yds ( the reason I switched from slick tricks to swahackers in the middle of my elk hunt.)with the same broad head.
  11. Looking for someone with dogs in the Prescott area.I have an itch to tag along and chase some cats this year, never hunted with dogs and have never hunted lion and really want to give it a shot. Willing to swap services, help on hunts, any sort of carpentry/remodel type jobs was a carpenter/finish carpenter for 6 years. Auto repair(went to a technical school and am now a heavy equipment mechanic going on 3 years) or any other labor you see fit! Let me know!

    Prescott area lion hunters?

Kd300wsm, I take it you work at the mine? If so hit me up, always looking for a good hunting partner down there. I work at the mine but mostly hunt towards home (Prescott) mainly due to not knowing the area that well. Did pull an archery stink pig out of there this Jan though( Coors lake area)

    Fixed blade broadhead vs. mechanical

I switched in the middle of my elk hunt from slick tricks to swhackers... killed a deer the day before the hunt started and was very disappointed with the blood trail the slick tricks made. After seeing the damage the swhacker did on my buddys bull I switched. Have killed a bull and a javelina with them now and am not looking back. Was a hard core fixed blade guy before that

    Prescott area lion hunters?

Bump for one last shot! (A gentleman did contact me from cwt and hopefully I'll get to spend some time with them when the weather is condusive but I have an odd schedule and would like to get out as much as possible so any more contacts would be great! Gotta love cwt and all the great people on here)
  20. Looking to upgrade from my current setup. Looking for a good all around tripod kit (head included) that I will be able to glass from standing (I'm 6'1") and sitting comfortably. Weight isn't a huge issue but I will be packing it every so often. Want super solid legs super smooth head, high enough for me, compact enough to pack and a reasonable weight and price. I'm upgrading from an old manfrotto setup with cheap legs and head to give an idea. Thanks for the input.

Best all around tripod for the $?

My swarovski 15's, maybe some weight on the post hook if it has one when its windy.
  23. Looking at ordering some new strings and cables for my Mathews creed within the next couple months. Probably going to go with winners choice but not 100% yet. I have a bow press and have been successful at tuning my bow ( yoke tune, ata, idler lean etc ) but am wondering what I'll be getting into with a brand new set. Obviously tying the d-loop, serving my peep and setting up my drop away but what else? Does it come with the speed mods? Do I have to know a specific # of twists for the cable and string or do I just twist until bow is at spec? Should I clean all the old wax off the idler/can and use a graphite type lubricant there? Just nervous about jumping into this as I hate giving my local shop buisness... Thanks in advance, Cody

    re-stringing my bow???

Thank you for the advice! Good info to work off of, one thing that I haven't researched or am familiar with is the speed mods. Is there only purpose for speed? I don't have access to a chrono so that might be an issue. Also who sells the weights and shrink wrap for them?

    Arrow builders

One more tip, save some money on the expensive fletching glues and use lock tight gel control super glue. The stuff works awesome, sets quickly, holds strong and is easy to take off if you need to re-fletch.
