6A late hunt (updated w/ story)
rschaumb replied to rugerman's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Awesome buck! Love the eye guards -
I watched a herd of mule deer all stop and munch on that kind of cactus. As for what it looks like when they are done eating it, I'm not sure. But they definitely eat it.
-
30+ does total in three groups. Spike with a few does. Small fork with 9 does. Big fork with 17 does. The big bucks haven't come into our area yet. Any day I'm sure. The big fork was chasing does and stomping at them with his head down and nose sniffing.

That's what I was thinking.

Ummm, no it's not. Definitely they're.... Not sure where you went to school And we wonder why AZ ranks 47th in education. Their - It is their dog. They're - They are going to get you. There - Hey dummy it's over there. He misused there/their/they're twice. Once in the post title, should have been they're. And once in the post comment, should have been their.
-
Sorry. I was quoting his comment, not the title of the post. "their panty's in a ruffle"
-
And it's "their" not "they're" or "there"...tripple douche bag haha

My guess as to why they can't show results in batches, is because if someone is declined it might change your results. For instance, if the person before you in the draw got the last tag in your first choice unit, say a strip tag, and because they got it, you get your second choice, say 7 rifle. Now if the person who got the better tag right before you gets declined and misses their three chances to get alternate payment from game and fish, wouldn't you want your tag to be upgraded to the strip tag because that's what you would have gotten if he got declined instantly. Just my .02 cents as to why results can't be posted until every declined card gets finalized. It's really the only fair way to do it.

My 3 brothers, dad and friend all got hit. Either Dec 24B whitetail or 24B mule deer. They all put in seperate. Nothing for me yet. Either late 12AW or 24b late whitetail

The first come mail in tags are avaiable July 28th. The the posted results will be out the week before that and cards will be hit the week before that...is my guess based on all the past draws. So credit cards should be hit, starting July 14th +/- a day

I don't think your points will help them much. I'm pretty sure they add everybody's points together and divide by the number of hunters then that's the points for the group. That's why someone with 21 points would never put in on an app with somebody with 1 point. Oh yea and I assume if it worked out to 2.8 points they would round down. It's the game an fish after all Just so you know, they round up at .5. from http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/BonusPointProcess.shtml What are Group Bonus Points? Group Bonus Points occur in the Big Game Draw when 2 to 4 applicants apply on 1 hunt application. Group bonus points are calculated by adding the species bonus points, loyalty bonus point, and hunter education bonus point for each applicant on an application and dividing that total by the number of applicants. The Department shall use the average number of bonus points accumulated by the individuals in the group, rounded to the nearest whole number. If the average has decimal digits equal to or greater than .5, the total will be rounded to the next higher number otherwise it is rounded down.

With that kind of surgery and depending on how bad it is around the time of the hunt, maybe you would be able to get a crossbow permit.

This same thing happens in college all the time. So the teachers make a disclaimer saying due by midnight-don't wait till the last minute to avoid computer/network problems. That's all G&F needs to do and then no more extentions.

Website is up but... Please enter you Birth Date and Department ID and then select the "Continue" button to view your results. A Department ID is like a customer number with AGFD. This number can be either your Social Security Number or a random number generated by AGFD. Results for the 2014 Big Game Draw for pronghorn antelope and elk draw are not available.

Stamp(s) question
rschaumb replied to stoney4325's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I copied straight from the regs. The migratory stamp allows the take of dove, duck, geese, etc. -
Congrats! It's a wonder that in that tough terrain his dew claws grew so long and wild. Gnarly face too.

Stamp(s) question
rschaumb replied to stoney4325's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You're correct. They got rid of the state stamp, but they combined it with the migratory bird stamp. So to hunt ducks you need the migratory stamp and the federal duck stamp. ($20 total) and for dove you just need the migratory ($5) from the regs: Migratory Bird Stamp Allows take of band-tailed pigeons, moorhen, coots, doves, ducks, geese, snipe, and swans (Valid July 1 – June 30) $5 Federal Waterfowl Stamp (valid July 1 – June 30) $15 -
Well I started off my pig hunt with hopes of killing a blonde pig I had seen the previous year while hunting whitetail. The group with the blonde one had been hitting our trail cam irregularly but we knew it used the area. After opening day went by without seeing the pigs or any fresh sign I went to bed hoping the next day would turn out better. Around 10 in the morning came and still hadn't seen anything so I figured they had gone over into the next range of hills and was about to head that way. Then all of a sudden I see a dark object 400 yards away and I checked with the binos and sure enough it was a javelina and there were more around it all feeding. And the blonde one was with them. To sum the story up, after about two hours of stalking the group several times and being busted each time; after drawing my bow back and almost decided to fill my tag on a normal dark javelina but deciding against it each time; I finally got it done. I was just full draw on a pig at 25 yards as it walked a circle around me and I almost let an arrow fly. I take a few more steps and there's the blonde one facing me at 33 yards but hadn't seen me. He turned ever so slightly and I let it fly through his neck and front shoulders. He ran down the hill 20 yards and expired. It's hard to get a specific javelina out of a group when they are all around you. Normally I just shoot the first one that gives me a shot opportunity, but I'm glad I passed up those other shots. I'm going to have him shoulder mounted and then later whenever I get a really dark javelina I'll mount them side by side. Enjoy the pics and thanks for reading.

This year's out of state Hunt&Fish combo license is $160. Last year the General Hunt only was $151.25. And the Combo was $225.75. So really you're only having to pay an extra $8.75 to get the new Combo license.

How many animals have you harvested in Arizona
rschaumb replied to Seldom Drawn's topic in The Campfire
Rifle: 3 does, 3 cows, 2 mule deer, 1 whitetail, 1 pig, 1 coyote Handgun: 1 pig Archery: 1 cow, 1 mule deer, 3 pigs -
Thanks guys again. No his eyes are black. He's not albino. Just has a recessive gene and is very light. We've watched a blonde one in our other hunt area for at least 3 years and you'd think he'd have an easier chance of being seen and eaten but he's still alive and kicking. I think he'll be the goal next year.

Speaking of which there is a sow out there that is a little lighter. It's face is actually split down the middle, light on one side and darker on the other. And it's baby was blonde. So here's hoping
