carp help for unit 32 az
peloncillo replied to trophyhunter's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
If she's 2 for 2 on coues, the muley hunt shouldn't even be a challenge. I know nothing about unit 32. Keven -
I don't think it would affect the deer as I have seen them both in the same areas before but I really don't know for sure. Keven

Massive, I really like the webbing. Keven

Heading to the San Carlos bear hunting
peloncillo replied to redneck74's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Good luck to you. I've never hunted the res. but would sure like to some day. Keven -
I believe I saw that pic before and it was taken in the monument. Heck of a buck though. There are lots of hunters everywhere in 29 although I don't think many make it too far from the roads. Good luck out there. Keven

Congratulations. Packing them out is hard work. Way to go it will make a great rug. Keven

25-06 has a good point. I know to glass on the northwest slopes but several times I've glassed some Toads bedded on fairly open east slopes. Almost like they were too lazy to walk over the ridge so they just laid down. They are out there somewhere. Keven

I pretty much agree with what Sundevil said. Keven

I always try to have a backup and a backup backup plan. If you haven't already been out scouting for particular bucks and you have the Dec. hunt I would probably start looking for areas with lots of does. The area south of Rucker canyon road in the Chiricauhuas would probably be the best area with access that you could pack in and have lots of country to glass. The biggest pig of a buck I ever have seen was in 30a and it was in an area that I'm sure is driven past by most coues hunters. You need to get out there and scout and I bet you will have a suucessful hunt. Good luck to you. Keven

Birthday Girl

Happy birthday Amanda Keven -
That buck and four others were hanging out at the mouth of a canyon and at times would be well out into what most would consider muley country. I found them in August and kept track of them up to the hunt in October. On the first day I actually was up to high and couldn't find them so I tried low and they were still there. The November hunt is different though. I consider it the toughest hunt. Good luck to you. Keven

You've definetly put your time in now I hope it pays off for you. Great pics also. Keven

Congratulations Austin, Way to go. Now go out and whack a bear. Keven

Hope he gets healed up pronto. I used to own horses and had one try to jump a fence and cut himself open on the post. It was over $600 dollars of stitches and that was back in the 80's. I'm sure you'll be back out there again soon. Good luck to you. Keven

Pretty much all of 29 is good for coues. The farther you get away from the roads the better. All the popular spots are very overcrowded. If you can pack in a ways you will get away from 90% of the other hunters and stand a good chance of killing a good buck. I have hunted there many times and have the Nov. hunt this year. Heres a pic of last years buck. Good luck to you. Keven

I am going down to 29 this weekend to do some scouting and maybe fill a bear tag. Anybody else going this weekend ? I have a gray Titan stop and say hi. Good luck to everybody. Keven

I've made a few scouting trips already this year but still haven't found what I'm looking for. I know they are there though. Heres a pic of how green it is from labor day weekend. Heres a pic of back when it was rucker lake. Keven
