Cabelas or the Sportsmens Warehouse?
love2hunt replied to drgonzales's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Yeah, I'm jealous. the fact that you can be hunting anything in 5 minutes. However it doesn't matter about deer because I can't seem to get drawn. I've had 2 elk tags in the past three years, (cow) and no deer in the last two. -

I'm betting the person that made the decision to put it in texas has no clue the diff, between coues vs whitetail. Your letter campaign might just bring it to light.

Muleskinner, Your much better off in safford, your still close enough to make a day out of it. Spend the day @ cabelas, take the wife out for a nice dinner and you never know how your life might improve -
What is the farthest you would shoot a .270 at elk??

Look into the new 338 federal. New to me anyway. There was a short article in the last NRA American Hunter mag, they had good things to say about it. Specifically that it came close to 300 win mag trajectory without the magnum kick. -
AZG&F made a misake. You guys have my 34A Tags. Two yrs in a row skunked so I'm not about to tell you where to go.......... hunting that is Have fun anyway

I see lots of reference to lion kills. How are you determining if the carcass you find is indeed the result of a lion? Thx Russ

WHATS UP WITH 6A THIS YEAR?!?!?!
love2hunt replied to GRONG's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
As a novice I'd say that most of us look toward the south or strictly desert county. I hunted 5BS for cow this early this month and jumped a nice Coues buck. I don't have the calibrated eyeball you guys have but he was a very nice buck. All I saw was white flag and bone as he was changing zip codes. I was in a mix of pine and juniper appx 7000 ft. Russ -
As an avid NASCAR fan I can really relate to your plight. However unless your really into racing, ie follow the teams, personalities, technology etc. And unless you have scanners (don't go without or at least rent) I would suggest you go hunting you'll be much happier. Go hunting and watch next weeks race on the one eye'd idiot (TV) Russ (if i had a tag I'd rather HUNT and I'm a race FAN!!!!)

Is there a explanation as to why only 30AB has leftover permits? I noticed that these units are given foot note 12 stating that access is limited. I'm not familar at all with the area but assume that it must be alot of private land . Is anyone familiar enough with the unit to give me some advice on where to start to look for a place to hunt. I decided I'll put in for the leftovers me and the bizzilions of others . Anyhunt is better then not going @ all even if its in unfamiliar territory.

Arizona Guide Thanks for the info, This is what I was looking for even if it is the cold hard truth . I respect your not telling me of the known honey hole, The guy's who work hard to find em deserve to be quiet about where. I may just forget the coues and take my daughter squirrel hunten, we can still do that cant we Thx AGAIN

This is the first shutout year for me for coues. Anybody thats been thru the leftover permit process that can school me on how to succeed I'd appreciate the info. Congrats to all those who were successful in the draw, but somebody has my TAG

Its a first shutout for me also as far as coues goes. What gives ? maybe I've been fortunate in the past or has the coues craze caught on with the masses I hope not. I did get drawn for an antlerless elk 5b south. Don't know how that happended but I'll take it.
