Thank you for all you responses. I am blessed to have my daughters and to be able to harvest a deer with my kids there. They themselves told me they loved being out there with me and it was actually fun doing all the things like hiking in in the snow, taking hot cocoa, watching deer walk by, watching the birds land in trees right above them and of course putting the deer down. Now i have to wait till next year!!! (BUMMER) I had to wait about 3 to 3 1/2 hrs. Getting them up so early and hiking them in got them tired which helped alot. I was really worried about them being unconfortable and really cold but the sleeping bags made the biggest difference. I might take one for myself next tiime. To answer a question, my username is thunderbolt cause i do in fact shoot a pse thunderbolt. I still love this 10 year old bow. Good Luck guys and gals !!

i found drops of blood on a deer trail that went about 5 yds. We searched the area really good for anything unusual but turned up nothing. it wasn't alot of blood, just a few drops here and there. so my question is.......... do does bleed when they go into heat ? the only reason we noticed the blood was because the blood really stuck out on the snow.

This was my weekend. I sat a really well used trail saturday and sunday only seeing does. During these blizzard like conditions the deer were still moving which gave me the motivation to stay longer. all in all i saw about 10 does a day. I also got this buck on my camera (time is wrong). enjoy

I got to see my first coues doe fight today. As I was glassing up on a ridge, I started seeing flashes of white through the trees. we kept watching the deer and out come two does on their hind legs kicking the heck out of each other. They fought for about what seemed like 5 minutes, but it was only 1 minute. They would fight then go there own way and come back minutes later to fight again. This lasted for about 15-20 minutes. After they split, i saw one doe get on her hind legs and eat out of the tree then proceed to beat the heck out of the tree. we saw about 25-30 does in one area and one spike. What a beautiful day it was.

after a long weekend with my little cousin and my grandfather, we got on a 2x2 and a spike with a bunch of does. 2x2 wouldn't give us a good shot so my little cousin was way more than willing to take the shot on the spike. 120 yard shot with my 270. Thank goodness i had put my bipods on cause he could't stay still. One shot in the neck and he dropped. Great weekend with my little cousin and my grandfather.
