    archery elk

Congratulations on your daughter getting a tag. A friend of mine and his wife received a tag a couple of years age and she shot her elk with a 40 lb. bow. A complete pass through. She was using gold tip arrows, and i think they were falcon arrows. They were thinner than the 5575 arrows

    THEYRE UP

Congratulations to those who got drawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! nothin for me
  6. Well i just purchased a kong lounger XLS from the sportsman warehouse. I have no experience in setting one up with all the straps that go with it. What is the best way to get one set up?? I thought of taking my 15 foot ladder out to the woods to help with the set up. Also what about chains and locks to keep it from getting stolen? Are there any other devices out there to keep the thieves from steeling it or at least make it real hard to take it? I've used a blind and have had deer come near, but i think they winded me and took off. I just wanted to take a stab at treestands but have no direction now that i have one. (not looking for advice on where to place a stand) any info would be appreciated, JERRY Q

    new to using a treestand

Thanks for the info guys. Where would i find this python lock at? well i'm gonna keep the harness for a while, i was just happy to have a free harness with the purchase of the treestand. i tried the harness on last night to see what strap went where. It seemed there were two seperate straps to hook up to the harness, one strap to hook up a tree in front of you while you climb and put up the stand, and the other strap to hook up to your harness at the upper back to the tree slightly above you. Is this right???

  12. went out this weekend with a friend to his spot. At first light we spotted 10-15 mule. We began hiking over hills to get to where the deer were at but as we were 2-300 yards away we noticed a hunter right over the deer watching them. I told my partner we should back out and let that guy have the deer. My partner got kind of mad at me for doing so but as we turned the other direction and started walking we noticed a huge 4x4 mule walking a wash. couldn't get near the buck at all cause of all the does. I told my partner we were rewarded by not moving in on those other deer. didn't get the buck but happy to see such a huge buck. On the way out I lost my wallet. I had planned to go back in there to find my wallet but couldn't make it. Well today, 3 days later i get a call from my uncle asking if i had lost my wallet. He said a guy from casa grande called and was looking for the owner of the wallet. My uncle gave me the number and i called the guy. VERY NICE GUY, he said he came outside his camping trailor and the wallet was sitting on his steps. He said he would send it in the mail for me and we talked about the weekend on how his and my hunt went. If you read this MR. CASA GRANDE thank you very much, theres not to many honest people like you. Thank you for going through all the trouble to find me.

    mountain lion

Went scouting up the mountain in the pine trees today. We were in an area that had a lot of rubs last year. We walked that place over and over and found not one rub. Well we moved over 2-300 yards away in a steap drainage to look in that area. We found two great rubs and as we were looking more, my partner pointed out a-lot of hair under a bush. we found fresh blood and chewed up bones from the face. There were three piles of pine needles, and a foot from that, under the needles were small pieces of intestines. we combed the area looking for the carcas but found nothing. it looked like a fawn because the jaw was really small. No ribs, no hips, no legs. we found the two rubs about 35 yards away from the kill. do you guys think the lion being in the area would keep the deer out????? by the way there was a lot of lion tracks in the area. We finally pulled out the trail camera and placed it in the area. hopefully we'll get some pics

  22. Well i was visiting a cousin, we got to talking about whitetail and he said to come with him to the garage and check out a deer mount an uncle of ours had. Well this is what he had to show me. He killed this whitetail in southeastern az in the late 80's or early 90's. later on in the years he gave it his brother and now it sits in a garage. different angles another one and another one more more and some more last one

    found in uncles garage

Well i got a little information from my cousin. He had asked his dad about the deer. I had the dates all wrong. the deer was killed in 1965 and back then in only cost him 60 dollars to have the deer mounted. While they were hunting my uncle had to go to the bathroom so he walked off aways from the group of brothers to go behind a bush. While he was doing his business the brother yelled theres a buck up the mountain. My uncle then stood up with his pants down and shot the buck. One shot is all it took and my uncle went back to finish his business. great story huh! back then all my uncles (brothers) went hunting together. Now they are getting up in age and don't really hunt. My uncle had the deer mounted in tucson while he lived there. he then moved to new mexico and left the deer at the taxidermist. 5 years later he moved back to tucson. After being in tucson a couple of months he remembered the deer and went to the taxidermist to see if he still had it. Well needless to say he still had it. Nowadays it lives in a garage. the picture really doesn't do it justice. we counted 21 points on the buck.

    found in uncles garage

I know it was unit 27. i have to talk to my uncle when he comes back into town. i know my cousin had already asked him for the mount or to buy it from him but he declined. i don't know why it sits in the garage though.
