Well said Rossislider.

A bull this big is sure to make some magazines, shows, etc. But no one wants to put a pic on the cover of their mag that has already been posted all over the internet and everyone knows everything about. Congrats Junkie! I am on the edge of my seat. Oh for money and fame. Got it! Distasteful comment.

.300 Win Mag on Javelina...
AxisWorks LLC replied to PelaPapas's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Agreed. I just shot a Coues with the .338 ultra a couple weeks ago at 450 yds. The 250 gr. bullet went in and out with zero meat loss. -
.300 Win Mag on Javelina...
AxisWorks LLC replied to PelaPapas's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
300 Win Mag for javelina? What ate you banking on a close shot??? I'm going straight to the .338 Ultra this year! Anything within 600 will be considered too close and let walk. -
Hey, hey! Look who's on the forum! Good to see you here Tim!

I just switched from a 2200 to the Badlands Clutch. Ive only used it on one hunt but I am pretty impressed so far. Cant go wrong with a 2200 either.

Kenetrek Boots Whats youre opinion...
AxisWorks LLC replied to SwarovskiCoues's topic in Other Hunting Gear
I bought the Mountain extreme uninsulated this year. They feel like waring a Ski boot right out of the box. It took mine about 50 miles to break in but now I will never own another hunting boot. Buy size correct. Everyone I know who bought bigger to accommodate large sox has developed blisters. I have never had a blister with mine. -
:P :P Love it!

Congrats Junkie! I am on the edge of my seat. Agreed! Not to mention having all the correct info before making the post is a respectable thing to do. It wont be until the drying process and official scoring is complete that you can make claims to rankings. I'm sure its all up in the air right now.

If this helps I run the seekins medium 30mm rings on Remington 700 actions with a sendero contour barrel and 50mm objective scope. They are .870 tall and clear perfectly. Keep in mind im also running a 30MOA seekins base.

How'd you all do this weekend on the 24A whitetail hunt? Let's see some bucks!
-
I use Seekins Precision base and 4/6 screw rings on all my large caliber long range rifles. Are they better? Questionable. But I am a fan of their sleeker design.

AxisWorks LLC replied to AxisWorks LLC's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Ha Ha. Yes that was us. Had a great time meeting you guys and BS'ing for a bit at your camp. Congrats again on your deer. That buck looks familiar. Was that you and your buddy's that stopped by our camp on your way out with that buck Friday night? Me and my brother were cutting up my brothers small 2 point at the time. -

Bonecollector did a great job getting this buck. Glad I could be there as it went down. Great shooting bud. It was a pleasure meeting you and your uncle. -

I'm in the same boat. I saw bucks just not the right species. I even glassed up mulies mixed in with whitetails as high as 5000ft. Ill be back at it again Tomorrow- the end of the hunt. -
IMS had AR-400 not to long ago. Id contact them and see. http://www.industrialmetalsupply.com/?gclid=CNz60fKWl7sCFZFxQgodTVEA0w I'm running 1/4" AR-500 and the .338 is dishing the plate pretty good. (not cratering it but dishing the whole plate after several rounds) Id go with a minimum of 1/4" thick IMO. Good luck.

257 mag reloading ...???

Mine likes 72.5gr. H1000 pushing a Barnes 100gr. TTSX averaging 3541 fps. Little tiny key holes at 100 yds.and holds MOA all day out to 600yds. Give me some more specs on your rifle. If you don't want it I might know 100 guys that would. P.S. don't forget that WBY. is freebored. Lots of guys not familiar with this come up a little confused when trying to find the lands.
