I have the same rules on this as sleeping in a tent with another guy. Hole to hole, pole to pole, but never pole to hole.

I agree the Outdoorsman's is a better design. Had they been more popular when I bought my Swaro adapter I admit I would have purchased theirs. However I have never had a single problem with the Swaro mount.

It shoots great especially with a can on it. Im a 1911 guy and find myself using my 1911-22 with the can allot. This one just gets left in the safe. I'm putting some money together for a Nighforce scope is the only reason I'm concidering selling it. It really is a great lightweight pistol for packing around with and ill probably regret selling it in the long run. Lol.

First Early Archery Bull Tag for me. Its either 22 or 4A.

+1 for the OX. Love mine!

Great optic for the money. Look into the PST over the HS. The HS is a hunting scope targeted at that purpose. You can still get the long range version with exposed elevation turret. The PST stands for Precision Shooting/Tactical so it has features geared towards a shooter. Look into the option of the EBR or mil dot. Then you can range AND compensate for drop.

First or Second Focal Plane Scope?
AxisWorks LLC replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
They both have there pros and cons. Some don't like the thick reticle of the FFP scopes for precise shooting when on lower magnification. With a SFP reticle, your wind holds are lost when you come off max magnification. Its whatever works for you. Just make sure whichever one you buy you understand how it works. Especially if you go with a SFP and plan on using holdover for longer shots. (Mil dots, BDC etc.) Now for my opinion for whatever its worth. I personally like a FFP scope better for the consistent windage marks at all magnifications. I dial turrets for elevation and hold for wind. WIn Win that way in my opinion. I did shoot a javalina a couple weeks ago at 100 yards so I had to turn the scope all the way down to 6X and had no trouble with the thickness of the reticle when making the shot. Its not a big deal on the FFP to me but again to each their own. Speedy. -

Which rifle for a youth hunter?
AxisWorks LLC replied to SteveKDC's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
A good .270 is a great choice for managable recoil for both deer and elk. I prefer something a little larger for elk but my hunting partner uses a .270 for everyhing from preditors to elk with great sucess. Other options to look at would be .25-06 or 7mm-08. Also if your looking for a quality rifle in the vanguard price range don't over look the Ruger American Rifle I have here's great things about them. Speedy. -
So while archery deer hunting this Jan. we noticed a little cyote problem at one of our favorite morning spots. 1st weekend after archery season we started taking care of it.
