2006 Duramax. This is the 3rd generation duramax engine, the year they went to the 6 speed Allison and the last year before the EPA cracked down and made them put the re-gen cycles on. By far the best Duramax generation. Speedy.

Very nice gun. I was admiring it while I was shooting next to you up at Rio Salado a couple of Saturdays ago. I was the guy with the crutch. Ha Ha, good to see you on here. Yeah sorry about the noise. I was there putting 3 boxes of factory loads through the rifle simply to harvest and fire form the brass. Come to find out its quite a chore to do that on a .338 RUM. It sure was ringing under that tin roof a bit. Hope the leg is healing well. Speedy.

I will have to come check it out. Keep me posted on the events. I'm pretty much done playing with this one for the time being. Ive been driving it like an old man for about a year now. I need it to be dependable for pulling my trailer for now. I plan on buying a new one in the near future then this one will become a full time toy.

The tie rods are the weak link on the GM trucks. On the duramax if you spool your turbo and launch in 4x4 you will snap the tierods clean off. (I know, I've seen me do it.) I knew it could happen and really just needed a reason to upgrade mine. However I'd rater spend the $300 and have the softer ride the IFS offers vs a straight axle. That's my opinion. My Dmax runs mid 12's launching in 4x4 at about 28 psi. I have yet to snap the fabtech tierods. I do however drop the torsion bars all the way down before doing this.
