nosler partition long range bullet?
AxisWorks LLC replied to couesmagnet's topic in Long Range Shooting
I couldn't agree with this more! Your shooting a 30 caliber magnum rifle. You will have enough KE out to 800 I promise. Everyone gets caught up on calculating ballistics. That is fine and I enjoy it as much as the next guy but you need to shoot, document, and shoot some more. What size groups are you holding at various ranges? How consistent are these groups? How much wind do you need to hold at the different distances? Will a different bullet make an improvement? In my opinion it comes down to accuracy and repeatability. A higher BC bullet is a great place to start but not always the best choice. -
No problem James, It was nice meeting you as well. You are going to love the 2200. I think Badlands did a great job with its redesign.

I have a few Badlands Items I will not be using so they are up for sale. All items are brand new never been used with tags still attached. Prices are firm. 2.) Badlands Inferno jacket. Realtree Xtra camo pattern. Size Mens Medium. $120 http://www.badlandspacks.com/inferno-jacket-hunting-clothing.html 3.) Badlands Alpha jacket. (In my opinion this is one of the best rain gear jackets I have ever seen.) Realtree Xtra camo pattern. Size Mens Large. $180 http://www.badlandspacks.com/alpha-jacket-hunting-clothing.html Sorry for the crappy cell pics. My good camera was dead this morning. Prefer FTF sale. Feel free to call or text, I live in East Mesa and work in Tempe M-F 6am-3pm. Eric (574)-248-0929

Pack is SPF. and I'm on the fence about keeping the Alpha jacket with all this rain were getting! I seriously like this jacket better than my $400 Sitka dewpoint jacket! Cohofishing, The Inferno jacket doesn't t even register on a bathroom scale. I don't have a better scale to get weight for you. Its really really light though! Thanks, Speedy.

Anyone hunt Desert Pheasant Recreation in Coolidge
AxisWorks LLC replied to Big Browns's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You make an appt. Show up, pay the nice lady your money, she has a ranch hand go plant the birds in the alpha fields and you have all day to find them. They will clean them for a fee if you like when you are done. I went with a buddy and we ran 3 dogs My Britt and Shorthair and his Gordon Setter. My Shorthair spent 1/2 the day in the truck because shes a bit of a bird hog. LOL. -

Anyone have the link handy to the leftover tag options? I cant remember where its at on the G&F site...

Just got back from another great Archery hunt in Iowa. Filled the antlerless tag on Monday evening and my antlered tag on Wednesday morning. There were no shortage of deer that's for sure. Rut still hadn't kicked into full swing before I left. Guess I'll have to go the full 2 weeks of November next year. I shot the buck about a mile in on public state ground so decided to quarter him up and pack him out western style. Not many locals had seen that done before. LOL.

I was hunting near Bradgate Iowa. Luckily the private land we have permission to hunt backs right up to the river and the state land is just on the other side. There is plenty of state land to hunt but access is limited if you don't have permission to access it through private property it's a long ways in and not allot of people aren't willing to go that deep. So even though we have allot of stands on public land it's because we have access through private to get to it.

Agreed, People decide where they are going to be based on what will be available.

That's awesome. I hunt zone 1 every year. Congrats on 2 great bucks.

Awesome deer. What zone were you hunting in Iowa? I'm assuming a southern or eastern zone?

Does anyone have a 300wsm modified case?
AxisWorks LLC replied to FOGGER's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have both a .300 WSM modified case and taps. I suggest treading your own fire formed case. The benefit to this is you won't have to calculate the difference in headspace between a bought (saami spec.) Modified case and the headspace of a fire formed case. That's just my .02 calculating the difference can works just as well. I'm in east mesa. Let me know if I can help. -
I have been shooting one for about a year and a half. It was a replacement from Bowtech when they couldn't replace a limb on my 82nd Airborn. I asolutely love it. Might just buy a new one too keep for when this one wears outs.

I have used the Badlands OX the last couple of years. It carries my heavier loads of gear extremely well and I always have a frame with me.
-
Mark, If this is a long action I have an extra firing pin spring you could try. Easy swap if you'd like to try that first just let me know. I'm in east mesa. Speedy.

I think I will be picking up a GoPro this week for my Iowa archery deer hunt that is the first week of Nov. I'm looking for any tips or tricks from you guys that use them while hunting. It will be tree stand hunting. Should I mount the camera to the bow? Or would a head mount work better. any advice would help. Thanks,
