I have the 10X14 Kodiak and two of the XL cots takes up a lot of room. Got a smaller cot for the GF. If you don't need the XLs don't get them. I have a large Butler bag so I need the XL. We have our tent set up with a cot on each side and a small 4' table in the back. Works well. Thing to keep in mind is that even though the floor is 10X14 the walls are angled and where the cot meets with wall, especially if the cross brace in the cot sticks out, you lose about a foot of room so the cot really sticks into the area you think you will have left. Borrow a cot first and try it out. If you need to borrow let me know I have 2 of the XLs, maybe one to sell, and one smaller one. Don't forget to protect the floor and I use cut tennis balls where the cot cross brace pokes the tent. Steve

My two cents worth. Keep the binos and buy a compact spotting scope. I have been down that road. Had the 10-42/15/56/and spotting scope. Have an 8-42 and the spotting scope now. In the woods the 8-42 if great, in the open the 10s and 15s are great as is the spotting scope. I spend most of my elk hunting time in the woods or juniper. If I am long range glassing I can see the elk or deer with the 8s then pull out the spotting scope. I have a pretty big Swaro scope. If I did it again I would go with a more compact scope. Steve

2014 Juniors Turkey Hunting Camp at Colcord Ridge Campground
rthrbhntng replied to Couestracker's topic in Turkeys!
This is a great camp to bring a new young hunter to. If you have a young hunter that wants to learn about hunting please grab a tag and bring him or her out. The mentors will be able to take out the young hunters with a guardian and teach them to call and hunt turkeys. Meals are provided so get some gear for the young ones and bring them out. We are always looking for new hunters to carry on the Hunting Heritage. Steve- 2 replies
